The Impossible Astronaut [Part 2]

Outside, Shore of Powell Lake, Utah, Day...

The Doctor was stretched out on a large picnic blanket, Lexi sitting cross-legged right next to him as Sky, Jupiter, Amy, Rory and River all sat around on the other edges of the blanket.

"Salut!" The Doctor exclaimed, holding his glass up in a toasting manner.

"Salut!" Everyone held up their wine glass, toasting in agreement.

"So when are we going to 1969?" Rory asked curiously.

"Yeah." Amy agreed. "And also, since when do you drink wine?"

"I'm 1,103 - I must have drunk it some time." The Doctor responded, taking a drink from the wine bottle and spitting it right back out. "Oh, wine's horrid! I thought it would taste more like the gums."

Lexi quirked an eyebrow in amusement, taking a sip from her wine glass. "1,103? You were 909 last time I saw you four days ago. Have you been a naughty boy and stayed away longer than you said you would?"

Jupiter laughed, almost choking on her wine as Sky sighed before patting her on the back.

"S-sorry." Jupiter cleared her throat. "It's just...you remind me a lot of me and Sky's mother."

"I'd love to meet her someday." Lexi giggled before glancing over at Amy, her smile dropping as she saw a far off look in Amy's eyes. "Amy...Are you alright?"

"Who's that?..." Amy asked, her voice just above a whisper.

Lexi tilted her head in confusion. "Who's who?"

Amy looked over at Lexi, shaking her head. "Sorry, what?"

"Who did you see?" Rory asked, putting a hand on Amy's shoulder. "You said you saw someone."

Amy glanced at Rory. "No, I didn't."

"Ah! The moon, look at it!" The Doctor exclaimed, pointing at the moon that was in the daylight sky. "Of course, you lot did more than look, didn't you? Big silvery thing in the sky, you couldn't resist it...Quite right."

Sky smirked slightly, taking-in the Doctor's attitude towards things. "Quite right indeed, Doctor. The moon landing was in '69 though. Is that where we're all going?"

"Oh, a lot more happens in '69 than anyone remembers." The Doctor told them. "Human beings...I thought I'd never get done saving you."

A little ways away, a pickup truck pulled onto the sand behind everyone. After a moment an older man stepped out, the Doctor standing up and holding up a hand in a wave.

"Who's he?" Lexi asked curiously, squinting as she pushed herself off the ground to stand up next to the Doctor.

Everyone looked to where the Doctor and Lexi were looking, Sky and Jupiter coming to stand on one side of the Doctor and Lexi as River, Amy and Rory went to stand on the other side of them.

As everyone was looking at the man, River glanced back, her eyes widening when she saw something she 'wasn't' expecting.

"Oh, my God!" River said.

Everyone turned around in the direction of which River was looking and were met with the sight of an astronaut standing in the lake.

"You all need to stay back." the Doctor warned. "Whatever happens now, you do not interfere."

With that, he began to walk off towards the astronaut.

"Wait a second..." Lexi muttered as she put a hand to her head, becoming lightheaded.
