The Rebel Flesh [Part 3]

Outside, Monastery battlement, Day...

The Doctor came to with a gasp and sat up. He looked to the right and then to the left.

"Lexi?" His eyes widened as he saw his girlfriend's unconscious body lying next to him. He put a hand on her shoulder, trying to shake her awake. "Lex?...Lexi, come on, wake up."

She stirred awake, her eyes fluttering open. "Mm...That was very unpleasant."

He chuckled, standing up before offering a hand to help her to her feet. "Yeah, not the best experience."

She took his outstretched hand and stood up, both of them then looking to the tower and noticing that the top of the vane was gone.

Inside, Monastery, Flesh room...

Amy and Rory both woke up on the floor.

"Oh." Rory winced in pain. "For want of a better word - oww!"

Outside, Monastery courtyard...

The Doctor and Lexi both ran down the stairs, both seeing the boss woman standing there, bewildered.

"Cleaves, you're not in your harness!" The Doctor told her.

"I'm sorry, Doctor." Cleaves told him. "You were right."

"It seems you've lost all power to the factory." Lexi informed, glancing around.

"I abandoned my team."

"Then let's go get them." The Doctor said, taking Lexi and Cleaves by the hands, all of them going inside.

Inside, Monastery, Tunnels...

"How long would you say we were unconscious for, Cleaves?" The Doctor asked as he and Lexi walked with Cleaves.

"Not long." She answered. "A minute, two minutes."

"I'd hazard we've been out a teensy bit longer."

"How long?" Lexi asked.

"An hour - I've seen whole worlds turned inside-out in an hour. A lot can go wrong in an hour." He told them before continuing on, Lexi following quickly behind.

Cleaves just sighed, following the duo.

Inside, Monastery, Harness room...

The Doctor, Lexi and Cleaves entered the room, finding Amy and Rory in there with the actual humans.

"Doctor, look, these are all real people." Amy told him as she saw them enter. "So where are their gangers?"

"Don't worry, when the link shuts down, the gangers return to pure flesh." Cleaves informed. "Now, the storm's left us with acid leaks all over, so we need to contact the mainland. They can have a rescue shuttle out here in no time."

Dusty Springfield suddenly could be heard once again.

"That's my record." Jimmy told them. "Who's playing my record?"

"Your gangers." The Doctor informed. "They've gone walkabout."

"No, it's impossible." Cleaves shook her head. "They're not active - cars don't fly themselves, cranes don't lift themselves, and gangers don't..."

They all then turned to the sound of the music.

Inside, Monastery, Dining hall...

A record was playing on the turntable as they entered the room through the thick plastic strips.

"No way." Buzzer commented, his voice just above a whisper.

"I don't - I don't believe this." Cleaves said in disbelief.
