~Lucy POV~
I couldn't help but question Natsu's change of attitude yet again.
He's been avoiding my gaze ever since this morning, but when I'm not looking I can see him, in the corner of my eye, staring at me with a guilty glint in his eyes.
I rested my chin on the palm of my hand as I pondered what on earth could've happened to change his mind.
"Class ! Listen up ! I will be pairing each of you up for a class project. The deadline is two weeks time so you better get moving." Said Ms Mira in a loud but sweet voice. Ms Mira is known to be one of the sweetest teachers around the school but, I wouldn't get on her bad side if I were you...I've heard she can be a bit demonic.
"....Lisanna and Gray !" I heard Lisanna and Gray both cuss as their names got called out. Luckily Juvia wasn't in this class or else Lisanna may be lying dead in a pool of blood.
"I want to be with Natsu !" Lisanna said wrapping her arms around Natsu's neck. I saw Natsu keep looking straight ahead, completely ignoring the koala with rabies attaching herself around his neck.
"Sorry Lisanna. Natsu will be pairing up with Lucy." I couldn't help but let a small smile make its way up to my face. I was delighted to be paired with Natsu as it may give us a chance to talk some things over. Like for example why on earth he's been ignoring me the whole morning.
I was slightly gutted to see that Natsu's smile disappeared within seconds as he began to look upset and disappointed.
"Ms ! Natsu doesn't like his partner. He's terrified of her." Lisanna perked up still not happy with Ms Mira's choice of partners.
"No he's not. He's probably terrified by your sticking arm pit strangling his neck." Gray muttered under his breath.
Natsu let out a low chuckle but immediately stopped laughing as Lisanna looked at him.
"Gray ! Quieten down ! Natsu do you want to change partners ? Is it true you're scared of Lucy ? I can change you partners if you like ?" She said with a venomous tone laced with every word she spoke.
I take it she takes her pairings very seriously.
I couldn't stop thinking as to why Natsu was acting the way he is. Is it because of what I told him ? Does he think I did it ? Does he blame me and is now scared of me because of-
"I'm happy with my partner." Natsu said shocking everyone in the classroom, including me.
"Right that's settled then. No more changes until the deadline. Even if you are all on the verge of killing each-other." She said as she eyed Gray and Lisanna. I couldn't help but feel sorry for Gray being paired up with that.
