Chapter 55

"What has you so distracted?" Ciel's voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

"O-Oh, nothing." Shaking my head, I put on a smile. "So, what can I do?"

He gave me a suspicious expression before shrugging it off. "We're here to collect inventory and check up on the business. Would you mind going in back and asking Katharine how sales have been?"

I tilt my head to the side. "Katharine?"

"Yes, she's the manager I leave in charge. Just head down the back hallway and to the right." He explained to me.

"Okay, can do!" Saluting, I turn on my heel and follow the directions towards the back.
I'm then confronted with a woman who, at the moment, was snickering at a book.

"Um...excuse me, Katharine?" I spoke slowly, knocking on the door frame.

She turns around, her short blonde locks swaying with the movements. The woman then blew a few strands out of her face before smiling in a sheepish manner. "Y-Yes?"

"I'm here to ask how sales have been as well as inventory." I calmly stated, smiling softly.

The blondes face went red as she fumbled with her desk drawers. "Y-Yes, of course..! I-I assume L-Lord Phantomhive sent you?"

"Oh, yeah, he's in the front with Sebastian." Tilting my head to the side, I watched Katharine frantically scramble for some paperwork.

"H-He is?" She gasps. "Oh, damnit! Where are those form..!?"
The book she was reading fell off her lap and opened on the floor. Curiosity took over, so I couldn't help but pick it up and read through a paragraph.
'His hands wandered my smaller frame, slowly moving lower down my sides. I couldn't help but shiver and bite down on my lip while he explored every inch... down to my hard--' I was unable to finish before the book was torn from my hands.
Her actions caused me to pout, crossing my arms. "I was reading that.."

"I-I-I'm sorry for leaving that lying around!" Katharine stammered, clutching the book to her chest. "Please don't tell anyone.."

"Tell anyone? I was enjoying that." Grinning, I hold out my hands towards her. "It's not often I can get my hands on a story like that."

The blonde girl blinked at me in confusion. "What? You don't find it 'disgusting', 'unholy', and 'weird'?"

"No, not at all, I rather enjoy them." Rocking on the back of my heels, I flash her yet another excited grin; completely forgetting what I came back here to do.

"Well...I do have all ten volumes of this series in my locked drawer, if you'd like to read them with me." Katharine looked down before making eye contact, her brown eyes meeting my (E/C) ones.

"That sounds fantastic!" I nod quickly.

"Really?? Awesome!" She giggled, tucking her hair behind her ear before pulling a key from her pocket. "I never quite got your name, miss."

"Hm? Oh, it's (Y/N)." I explained, peering over Katharines shoulder.

"Well, it is very nice to meet you."
