Jesika sat in a deep daze while seated on her mothers favorite sofa that she once loved. It had been two hours since she left the burial of her mothers. She was still trying to make sense of it all. Yes, the moment was expected to happen but she was never fully prepared for it. Jesika felt like a motherless child. Her mother was now gone. Her father had abandoned her and her mother when she was an infant. She felt all alone. Even though she was in a room filled with a lot of distant family members and friends, and Michael. She still felt empty, confused, and angry. A few came by to hug her and kiss her cheek and assured her they would be there for her. She flashed faint smiles and nods and looked down at her feet.
She took a deep breath and lifted her eyes to see Michael staring at her. He was surrounded by her family members with a red plastic cup in his hand with punch inside. He stretched his lips and stared intensely through his aviators. She did too as her heart began beating rapidly. Flashbacks of him and her family reappeared in her mind as she sat inside the long stretched limo. She couldn't handle being inside the sanctuary, so she stormed out in a panic after laying eyes on a big beautiful portrait of Susan and the beautiful creamed coffin she was inside. It shone brightly in the sunlight and lights in the sanctuary. Michael ran behind her, and called after her. She begged him to be alone and he granted her wish and watched her step inside the limo all alone. He sighed and stared at the stretched limo through his aviators for several minutes before going back inside. The sanctuary was filled with silence, he cleared his throat and unloosened his tie a bit. He touched the top of his hat to lower it on his head, while walking down the aisle and took a seat while staring deeply at Susan's coffin.
An hour later, Jesika still had her eyes fixed on the outside of the church while seated in the limo. She rested her head on the leather seat and sighed. The doors finally opened and she saw groups of people exiting the funeral with tears in their eyes. She soon saw Michael walking out with a group of people surrounded around him as well. He had an obituary in his left hand, as he turned his head to the left as a chirping bird caught his attention.
