"Your hair looks fine" Lisa assured Janae.
"It won't stay straight" Janae complained.
"It's summer time it's not supposed to" Lisa laughed.
"It's not funny Lisa!"
"Come on, let me try and do something to it" Lisa suggested.
"Did you invite any friends?" Lisa asked as she began to curl Janae's hair.
"Yeah, all two of them" Janae sighed.
"Well I love King, he's party by his damn self"
"Yeah I know" Janae laughed.
"I invited a few of my friends and some of our cousins"
Janae let out an audible groan as she could not deal with their other cousins who lived out in queens.
"They're going to travel from Queens?" Janae asked.
"Yup, all four of them actually"

"I don't know why you dislike them so much"
"Because they don't like me, they think I'm bougie"
"You are" Lisa joked.
"No the hell I'm not" Janae turned around in her seat to face Lisa.
"You my favorite cousin Jay, but it's the truth, you're not bougie, you just have a certain way and style to you" Lisa complemented.
"Whatever, so why come and celebrate with me if I'm bougie" Janae huffed.
"Because you are the baby of the family, and believe it or not we all love you. We're all proud of the woman you are becoming"
"Don't get soft on me now" Janae laughed.

"I'm your number one fan ... Now I hope this dress you got says finally 21" Lisa poked fun.
Janae wasn't conservative but she wasn't too flashy at times. Most of her days were spent in scrubs for school. She had no time to get glamorous every day, only to look a mess after doing a 12 hour shift. It just wasn't practical, now that school was out and she was on break, she worked at a clinic, which meant another attire, professional clothes. Another thing she barely spent time getting ready for.

"Oh god" Janae rolled her eyes.
