Emma's POV
Jake helped me tie a rope to my ankle. Our plan was to lure the hollows to the pier, while Jake, Juliet, Dante, and I attack the wights.
"Ready?" Jake asked. I nodded.
He grabbed the end of the road, and I started floating.
"You down there, Mr. Barren, we've come to avenge our friend. If you're up to it, bring the hollows to the end of the pier in five minutes. Or face the consequences." When I finished, Jake pulled me back down.
"Olive and Hamilton brought the others to the pier. They said they had a plan." Juliet whispered. We peeked over the edge of the railing.
"They're all gone." Jake said.
"Good. Now let's go." Dante nodded.
"We should get Mr. Clouse first." Juliet suggested.
"Right. So just in case something goes wrong with the others, we could help Enoch." Dante nodded.
Juliet's POV
The mention of Enoch's name made my heart ache. What if I never see him again? I can't lose him. Again.
"Jake. Give me the crossbow." I whispered.
"What? Why do you get to use the cool weapon?" He argued.
"Everyone knows you're bad with aim." I smirked.
"How do you know that?" He scoffed.
"Because in the movie you miss every shot."
"What movie?"
"The movie you're in. The movie this book we're in is based off of."
"Ugh, fine. Here." Jake gave in, handing me the crossbow.
I peeked over the edge, and aimed at Clouse. I stuck my toungue out in concentrated. I aimed carefully and pulled the trigger.
I watched the arrow launch for Clouse, but another moved in front of him on accident and got shot.
The wights' heads looked around the room, looking for where the arrow went.
"Great. You killed Mr. Archer." Dante sighed, patting my shoulder.
"Now what?" Emma whispered.
"We attack." Dante answered.
