A farmer was carrying three possessions of his; a lion, a lamb and a stack of hay.

He needed to get all three to the other side of his farm, for farming purposes. The sheep had eaten all the grass on the one side, the lion had been eyeing the goats and chickens, and the hay needed to be distributed to the bunnies, who lived on the other side of the farm.

The farm had been separated into two parts by a wide river. The only way to cross that river was by a small rowing boat, which can only hold 1 person and 1 other possession or thing.

He couldn't leave the lion with lamb because, without his supervision, the lion would eat the lamb, and the lamb couldn't be left with the hay, for it would eat the hay.

He can take as many trips across the river as he pleases.

In which order should the farmer take his livestock and hay across?
