"Marry me, or else,"the landlord made a cut throat motion.
The farmer's daughter was to marry the landlord, or the whole farm would be destroyed, and her entire family evicted and homeless.
She hated the pig. She was 25, and he was 34, way too big of an age gap, but if she were to save her farm and family, should would have to. The landlord noticed her hesitation, so he took pty on her, but not too much.
"I will give you one chance. One." He withdrew a small black pouch, then bent down and picked up two stones from the rocky path and placed them in the pouch.
"If you pick the black stone, you marry me. If you pick the grey stone, you and your father liv here and don't have to pay rent." he explained.
The farmer's daughter was not stupid, for she saw him pick up two black stones. So, whichever one she picks, she will be forced to marry him. But, she had a plan.
