For her tenth birthday, Jamuna received a puppy. It was a small black, furry thing which she named Biscuit. Biscuit was a free-spirited dog, and would often show it by going for walks which he did not return from for quite some time. One day, Biscuit received a leather collar, on which his name was emblazoned with a beautiful little bone. It was snowing that day, and Biscuit had gone on one of his walks, "Maybe to show off his brand new collar", Jamuna's mom suggested. Knowing that Biscuit wouldn't return in the next few hours, Jamuna went upstairs to play with her dolls.
After five hours had passed, Jamuna went to go look for Biscuit around the house, for he was usually back before dark. She ran around the house yelling his name but didn't find him, until she opened the door to the living room. There he was, lying in front of the crackling fire, dead.
