Hertha Berlin 0-3 Liverpool

Two clubs come together to celebrate 125 years of football from their clubs. I almost missed the special occasion because I couldn't find a single link that would work, it took an hour so I missed half an hour of the action, however the one I found was the best quality picture ever.

This match was the first match in the club's history to use video technology.It was there to deal with four types of calls: goals, penalty decisions, red cards and cases of mistaken identity, except there was none of that here, well there were goals but they were all back of the net.

I swear the world just doesn't want me to see Solanke's talent.

Solanke apparently proved to be rather effective at getting on the end of Adam Lallana's left-foot cross to loop it over the keeper 15 minutes in. Just about when I was getting very frustrated at not being able to watch. 

I did get to watch in time to witness Gini Wijnaldum score AWAY FROM HOME. He's finally done it! It was a a smart finish from outside the are, a low shot from Mane's pass. He can start banging them in, in the league all over the place now! 

They showed a clip of the Kop packed and singing YNWA in the 60s and then one from recently I couldn't stop the chills.

Andy Robertson debuts. First kick of the ball takes him away from a defender and then a half volley into the goalkeeper's hands. Yeah, even our new defender is ready to impress with his goal scoring. Then he's close to assisting Salah, very promising.

I watched his getting to know you video (or tried to) and could not understand/ hear most of it! I'm gonna blame an oven fan behind me and a hoover going in the other room rather than me not being able to understand our new Scottish lad.

Coutiniho turns and passes, Salah's too quick and that's A GOAL!

Flanno came on and here my stream fucked up. It kept showing his swap with Matip and Sturridge almost scoring the same goal/ making the same attacks over and over until

Our attack is making me unbelievably excited to get stuck into the season. We're clearly gonna produce some amazing goals but what does concern me still is defensively we're not really being tested and the outcome isn't too good when we are. It's a clean sheet today because Hertha failed when it came to finishing. We know we can score we proved we can do that at least most of the time last season, we need to keep improving at the back and be confident with it because we can't keep playing with the intention that we'll just be the team that scores more (we're gonna score one more than you...) I'm just concerned that we're not playing teams that can test us like that again this preseason. But then there's Bayern Munich and possibly Atletico Madrid.
