Leicester City 2-3 Liverpool

Before we get started there's one thing I'd like to sing that doesn't get sung nearly often enough and it goes like this LIVERPOOL, LIVERPOOL, TOP OF THE LEAGUE, LIVERPOOL, LIVERPOOL, TOP OF THE LEAGUE! I could go on especially since it is times two, the U23s and the Ladies.

It's six in six for the U23s with a 4-2 win over Spurs last night. They'd only conceded one goal before I took note, one match later it's three! Harry Wilson hat trick. I didn't pay any attention to them until I remembered they were on too and saw the final score.

It's one in one for the Ladies. Easiest way to be top of the league, be the first match of the season and win that match. It was a Merseyside derby, the first time Everton's been in the same league as us for a few seasons, first match of the season so there was a lot to be excited about and it looked like BT sports had been making a bit of big thing of it, if you knew where to look which I didn't until they said it was gonna be on the telly in a few hours. This morning I added as many of our players to twitter as I could find.

They won two nill or as I went around reporting one nill since it was on tv (I was so excited almost committed to a special post but glad I didn't), I tried my hardest to watch it but should've given radio a go because the only time the streams really worked was the first goal so I watched it but didn't get to see much at all and missed the second goal.

Also the U18s also played the Mini Merseyside derby last night, lead by Gerrard they won 3-1. Couldn't find where they are in their league. Speaking of Everton the seniors have chosen a big red bird as their sleeve sponsor, y'know like our mascot mighty red, lol.

If only the top bit applied to the Seniors too.

MotM- Phillipe Coutinho

(He's been waiting for this, we've been waiting for this. One assist, one goal he might as well trademark as the Coutinho free kick)

The senior match though, so glad they made it 4 Liverpool wins in 2 days or Liverpool, Liverpool, top of the league would be really awkward. When they were showing aerial views of the stadium and that kind of thing I just thought this is like going to the motorway in hope of seeing a crash. I wasn't feeling good about it to say the least since we were about to beat a record from 1930 something but we pulled through. We had that all along!

Can hit the post and Salah uses the rebound for a wide shot. It looks like we're ready to score again but it also looks very much like we just like missing at the moment. So many missed opportunities like that, that we know we can't afford!

We were almost made to pay for it with Moreno making a dreadful clearance (he was due a move like that) ends with Okazaki heading wide. We can't make mistakes like that or we will be punished, we know this!

There wasn't too long to dwell on it though because Coutinho's took off down the wing and crossed the ball. Salah's got himself another header goal! He probably shouldnt've scored that! I saw it clearly on one side of the post, the right side and was still a bit convinced it'd hit the side net instead.

Schmeichel got a finger on it and the commentators eventually said he could've done a bit better and I had a bit of a grumble that if that was Mignolet like a year ago they'd slaughter him for it but! oh no not the blond boy son ofSchmeichel" and then I just thought we must just keep going around in waves of blame of who's fault it is.

Ndidi booked for foul on Moreno. Moreno did a pretty impressive roll from that and held his head to the point where I thought he'd need the obligatory time out but I guess either it was ignored (the ref totally wasn't ignoring stuff) or he insisted he decided to protect his head.

A free kick in Coutinho area. We've seen it so many times before and here it is again. Schmeichel leapt, Schmeichel was nowhere near! Coutinho's back!!! He never went away! Coutini HO HO HO. So good to hear and get to sing his name again. Dad jumped up and screamed. The little magician might be forgiven.

Two nill and the game is very much ours to lose so as always we give it a go. Leicester get a free kick. It ends in the back of the net with Okazaki but it's ruled off side. As far as we could tell it was offside whoever it went to and I'm not going looking for it being on side. The offside flag waved at the right times for us quite a bit today.

However right moments before half time Leicester got themselves a corner. Mignolet goes to force himself through the crowd and punch. He doesn't manage it. Probably because Okazaki had hold of him the whole time and then he turns and pokes the ball in the net but apparently that's legit so we get to go into the break with uncertainty.

People have been saying we have no leaders and all that but Henderson was so mad, he went right over kept talking to the ref and the linesmen about it all the way off the pitch. I guess the problem is the leadership is reactionary there where as we need that situation not t happen in the first place.

Sturridge comes on in Firmino's place. Gini had shouts against him for handball, however he had his hand out like that because he'd been fouled so there's no way it can be.

Sturridge has a lot of impact. He's being patient for 100 to come along but today it's an assist. He does all the work and then passes to Henderson for him to deal with the keeper one on one.

Now it's three one, we can't go and try throwing away three one, surely! 90 seconds later Gray has shot and Mignolet parries straight to Vardy who heads home. Boodly Vardy, no one's told him the party's over!

Milner comes on for Can. I was in awe of how chiseled his face is, I don;t know why, it's not like his face is new.

Mignolet goes to make sure Vardy doesn't get the ball. He touches it. A tiny touch is still a touch, however he goes through Vardy too and the ref stupidly decides penalty. As dad pointed out didn't Vardy also go through Mignolet, goes both ways but we're getting punished! Well we would be if it wasn't for Mignolet, penalty king.

Commentators say Klopp'll need a trip to his heart specialist after this and I'm like he's fine, he won't have even looked at the penalty, what about my racing heart?!

Coutinho is off and Oxlade-Chamberlain is on. Can he show he's a better man today? I can't say I saw anything of him.

I didn't want those extra five minutes, no thank you! We got through them though without adding or conceding any more goals. We won against Leicester City. Relief! It's over!

Next up Spartak Moskva away, in the Champions League Group stage.Tuesday 26th September, 19:45

A nice trip to Russia, relief is that we are allowed to travel and the match isn't going to be behind closed doors for their sending a rocket at the ref.
