Bayern Munich 0-3 Liverpool

It was on ITV4 "normal telly" and I still managed to miss a few minutes. There was a storm over the stadium and technical issues that stopped them having the images apparently. Big heavy rain lightning storm, we had it here in the afternoon but lucky for them they didn't have the tons of hailstones too.

So the kit. This is the first time with the white/ green right? (or I've not been watching properly) I'm thinking the green should've been darker or a solid block rather than stripes cos you could hardly tell it wasn't just white and that was with a really clear picture, I'll never tell on a stream! Although I'm glad they didn't go the dark green, in your face colour of 1995.

There's some impressive lightning strikes over the stadium but it's not as impressive as our lightning players. Firmino fed the pass to Mane and he knows exactly where to shoot it.

Speaking of Mane it seems everyone's so terrified of his pace they're determined to hurt him but somehow he's okay after every foul.

Moreno took a free kick and it was one of his wonder strikes that are just not enough for a goal, in this case the keeper got his hand there. (I hate it when they do that!) He played pretty excellently today which is one of those I want to hate him for his bad job at defence but there's not much to defend so he's just an amazing attack.

This Tweet from John Arne Riise - "Moreno, can you turn it all around? Would freaking love it man! Even I doubted you, but things might change my fellow left back"

I love him having a twitter but it doesn't half confuse me when he tweets stuff in Norwegian

Mane did some art of a flick that Moreno took on the overlap, he crossed and guess who's head is there?! It's Salah!

Paul Ince as one of the presenters as one of the presenters insisted Karius'll be number one to start the season and I got so mad at him like have you actually seen him last season and in this preseason, especially compared to Mignolet who's in a really good place?! He went an almost let a back pass in (don't think it was going in but still that'd be a needless corner or a goal if it had just cos you let it go past you!) Karius has very much taken the place that Mignolet used to have of having very little confidence in him and mistakes flooding to mind if he isn't prefect which makes everything seem worse.

While Dad took note of Coutinho's quietness, insisting that means he's bound for Barca. I refused to comment. I just want nothing to do with it. I trust Klopp's word but then there's players we want who we're getting the big "NO!" from but we're still hearing a yes or at least a maybe so we just can't know. He certainly wasn't quiet in the previous few games (which he didn't watch) so maybe it was just the turn of Mane to shine brightest.

Although his opinion became irrelevant when he said he wished Anfield looked like Allianz Arena, no way, it's so ugly on the outside. I really don't want one of these new built to be modern and HUGE stadiums, not for me thanks. We've just voted very positively towards safe standing seating so who knows where that's gonna lead if anywhere since it was just a survey of opinion at this stage.

The third goal was so confusing, we didn't know what was going on, commentators didn't know, we all thought they were just taking ages to change the score to a 3! Even after the match and all the replays we're still waiting for the ref to explain. It was probably Lallana getting in the keeper's way/ pushing him, being in an offside position even though he had NOTHING to do with the ball. It's so harsh on all Kent's work to make it happen and on Grujic's shot.

Another weird thing from the commentary they sung TAA's praises how it doesn't matter if Clyne and Gomez aren't available cos he is and I was like he spent the whole match pushing people, he'd just get in trouble for that but he did actually do really well and I'd happily see him included if he can avoid punishment for pushing.

The moment Sturridge came on we were all dying to see him produce something. He almost did with his first move on the ball. He gets the real third goal and gets that lack of scoring off his back. He goes running on his own chips the goal keeper, beautiful goal but it comes with a grimace. That run's done his quads. FFS world you could give us a minute to enjoy that goal. Absolutely gutted for him hopefully it's just not what we think/ how it looks.

Melissa Reddy's reasuring tweet- "Daniel Sturridge in very good spirits walking through the mixed zone. Said "nah, it's nothing serious" when I asked about his injury."

Woodburn replaces him.

Lallana got into a bit of a fight with Vidal, both got booked for it. I love it when he gets wound up and in a scrap cos it is so against my image of who he is as a person, the very nice, soft spoken, self admitted teacher's pet.

Since we basically beat them 4-0 it's only fair we compare them to Barca (who can get right out of Coutinho's business) they were our last game, we've still got two to go, our players look much fitter and readyer however Bayern Munich looked like they'd spent a long time away from each other and in no way gave us the difficult test I asked for, like there was a cross in the box and two maybe three players made no attempt to go for it. It was probably still more embarrassing for Barca though cos at least Bayern could blame the horrible weather conditions. I just wish we can beat European teams like that when we qualify for the Champion's league.

Next up Athletico Madrid tomorrow 2nd August 2017 (OMG it's August already!) 7.30pm (Think)

I don't know how their game went because the presenters just assumed we'd watched their entire program for the two matches (even though it was split up by a 15 minute car show and we're not interested in any other team but Liverpool) so made no mention of it. They kept alluding to sendings of though.
