Man City 5-0 Liverpool

MotM- Sadio Mane

(Y'know I wanna go for the ref but I'm not in that kind of mood. He went for a 50/50 eyes on the ball, keeper's out his box so can only head and he was right to go for it.)

Well the ref's gone and ruined it. You know it's not a red when Gary Nevile is vehemently arguing a Liverpool player shouldn't be being sent off. I suppose it's only fair we've played them against 10 men mentally for the last few times cos Sterling, so now  it's our turn to play with 10 men physically.

Also obviously the international break has done us wrong again, despite everyone doing well and as far as I know no injuries to report (even Coutinho miraculously recovered) so it shouldn't have been a bad one but we start being bad at trying to put the ball in the back of the net, the part of the game we're usually great at.

(I meant to write a post about the transfer window/ the internationals, the UK related internationals anyway to tide us over to this game but it turned out to be a busy week or two so I didn't find the time)

What was really weird was Sky Sports News showed it to be heavily raining and I was like oh no not again! I asked for sun, bloody Manchester and all that, puts the match on and it's sunny and it doesn't look like there's been any rain, must have been footage from the last match.

Salah had loads of attempts but they were all basically crosses. Can had a shot saved like identical but a bit more powerful to one Mignolet just saved and then a big miss. However it was looking likely that we would get our act together and score the goals until Aguero popped up.

Aguero equals Thierry Henry's record with that sixth goal on the trot at home against Liverpool and beats Dwight Yorke for most goals in Premier League by a non-European player.

That was embarrassing like where were our defence?! Why's he been left for a one on one with Mignolet?

Oh Mane! Now I will always be wearing the red tinted glasses and I'm just not good at being impartial in general but that wasn't a red card, no one but the ref was thinking get the red out. I know the more you see it the more dangerous it looks but Mane had every right to go for that ball and if the keeper was in his box he wouldn't've been putting his head where Mane's foot was going, he put himself at risk and Mane's gotten punished for it. City players tried to play offside against SADIO MANE, leaving their goalkeeper to it and we got punished for it!

I'm gutted for Mane, he's gutted and now what was developing into a good game is bloody ruined.

Dad's going he'll get up in a minute, he'll get up and get on with it and I'm like there's the stretcher, several medics around him, that's a neck support thing, he looks legit injured to me but I believe it was the body contact not the boot. He was back at the bench area near the end with a plaster on his face looking alright.

Stream issues let me see them score but have it ruled off side but miss the second goal that stood.

Half time prediction we are very much going to get battered, I want to believe but it's City and all we can do is try to contain 45 more minutes of it.

So two nill down, we go again and start by taking off Salah for Oxlade-Chamberlain Who I will be calling Alex from now on. Okay so we're definitely going for containing but we're not too good at that so it lasts 8 minutes until the next one goes in.

Dad called to abandon the game at this point so I went off an half watched/ half started writing.

I'm real proud of the loud, clear rendition of the fields of Anfield Road.

I knew as soon as I said I'm proud of how we're keeping it at three they'd score another.

Also the YNWA around 86 minutes.

Poor Alex, he swaps sides and still gets done by 4 and one more. I don't know what to say, I've seen people saying we just gave up as soon as Mane went off but I saw us realising there's no way we're getting the opportunity to score so just trying to defend the best thy could with one less player.

That wasn't as painful to watch as I thought it was gonna be other than the first goal but there was nothing else that was going to happen, think I'm still gonna avoid social media, especially twitter for a little bit, won't get to watch Match of the day either.

Next up Sevilla at home in the Champion's League group stage,Wednesday 13 September, 19:45

Oh good, I was so looking forward to playing them!
