Sorry about the republish/fake update thing 😬

"Really, Camila? The arcade?" I tease when she finally removes her hand from my eyes, allowing me to peer up through the car window.

"Yeah." She answers sheepishly, "I haven't been here yet, so I thought we could check it out together? Have you been here?"

"It's not great." I grimace, turning back to see her now wearing a sad pout.

"We can go somewhere el-"

"No, come on." I exclaim, reaching over to unfasten her seatbelt before planting a kiss on her cheek, "We'll make it great."

A small smile grows on her face, paired with a smaller blush. I can't help but grin in return.

...

"That's the best thing about this place!" I argue, though jestingly.

"Uh-uh." She refuses, "I suck at laser-tag."

"Nonsense. Come on."

Without giving her much of a choice, I drag her over to the desk at the laser tag section and sign us up for the next game in 15 minutes.

"What do you wanna do for fifteen minutes?" I ask when I turn back around, catching her already smiling softly at me.

She doesn't respond. Instead, she steps forward and wraps her arms around my middle, laying her head on my shoulder and letting out a small breath. I return the hug with a small frown on my face.

"Are you okay?" I whisper into her ear. She nods to the best of her ability before squeezing her arms tighter around my waist and releasing me.

"I really like you." She whispers back as though it is a secret being told at a slumber party full of thirteen-year-old girls. My frown is taken over by my smile as I run my hand up and down her back.

"I really like you too, Camila." I grin, discreetly leaning down to leave a gentle kiss against her temple. I'm not sure what's gotten into her, but I'm not complaining.

"Excuse me." Another voice interrupts, the person I bought the laser tag game from, "Their game ended early. You guys can head on in."

I nod, thanking him before peeling Camila off of me and taking her hand. With a smirk and a newfound plan, I lead her into the dark entryway of the laser tag arena.

"Y/n," she mutters when I head to the guns that hang on the walls, "Where should I put my stuff?"

Turning, I remember that she's carrying both a handbag and her coat which she's just taken off, revealing a simple yet gorgeous outfit beneath which consists of ripped skinny jeans and a white crop top. Luckily, the facilitator of the game approaches and offers to keep her belongings behind the desk as more players, mostly preteen boys, enter the room.

"Can we be on the same team?" Is Camila's next question as her eyes dance over the guns before her.

"They randomise it, babe," I reply rather sadly, though she only shrugs before managing to lift the vest onto her shoulders and fasten it around her waist, watching as the lights turn on to indicate which team we're one. When she looks up, a wicked grin consumes her features, eyes reflecting her blue light stunningly.

"Oh, I'm gonna kick your butt." She threatens.

I look down to see mine is red and bite my lip, holding my hands in a surrender position when I look back at her. She giggles, making me grin before the facilitator begins to announce the rules of the game.
