Danielle -May 2018

"Damn. Whoever this is, they have a nice house."

"Yeah?" He chuckled and put a hand on my back and led me to the door.

"Knock, knock." He said as he opened the door.

There was no answer, so he barged in anyways.

"Yo, man! Knock next time!" A voice echoed through the kitchen.

"Relax!" He said as he led me to the kitchen.

"Klay, Mykee, this is Danielle. Danielle, these are my brothers, Klay and Mykee."

"Hi, nice to meet you." I smiled and extended my hand.

"Hi, I'm Klay, the good looking one." He smiled back as he shook my hand.

I chuckled and shook my head. "Nice to meet you."

"And I'm Mykee, the other good looking one."

"Nice to meet you." I chuckled as I shook his hand.

Klay looked me from top to bottom, and smiled. "I was beginning to wonder if you were actually real or not. Trayce likes to pretend a lot." He teased.

I laughed, and looked at Trayce, who rolled his eyes and shook his head.

"Well, make yourself at home. My home is your home." Mykee said. "Did you want anything to eat or drink?"

"Yes, a bottled water please."

"Coming right up."

"Come outside." Klay said as he led me outside to the basketball hoop. "You play hoops?" Klay asked as he threw me the ball.

"Uh, I mean if high school gym class counts." I chuckled as I made a shot.

Swish. Nothing but net.

"Ooooh!" Klay said. "Trayce! Your girl got mad skills!"

I laughed as I dribbled the ball.

"So are you from around here?" He asked as I passed him the ball.

"Nah. Colorado actually."

"Oh really? It's beautiful there."

"It is. My friend's parents rented us a beach house for the summer."

"Are you in school?"

"Yeah, I'm going to University of Northern Colorado. It's a college in Greeley. I'm majoring in music education. Go bears!"

"Music? Really?" He said in surprise as he dribbled the ball back and forth.

"Yeah. I've been involved in music since middle school."

"Do you play an instrument?"

"Yeah, clarinet. Since 6th grade. And a little piano."

"That's awesome. You know I used to play the sax."

"Really?! No way!"

"Yup! I forgot most of the notes though, so I would probably sound really bad."
