"Hurry up!" I panted as Tatsumi tried to catch up to me, "They're right on our tails!"

Just then a squad of imperial guards turned the corner, continuing the chase after me and Tatsumi. Now you maybe wondering....how in the hell did I get into this situation? Well you're about to find out.

Flashback commencing 

My ears twitched as my feet tapped against the cobbled streets. People turned and stared as I tried to cover my ears. You see I'm a neko, something that is very rare in the Empire. I lifted my hood over my face as I continued to walk towards the capital. Najenda sent me on a mission to  rescue Tatsumi, who was taken by general Esdeath a few days ago. A shiver ran up my spine as I thought of the blue haired general. To be honest I was scared of her. Rumors about her spread quickly, especially rumors about her torturing chambers and what she does to Night Raid members. I hope I was in time to save Tatsumi.

As I approached the capital's walls my nerves started to kick in. Luckily my teigu is actually pretty good. You see it allows me to blend in with whatever I touch when I activate it. It also allows me to shift through walls, but it takes up a lot of my energy. Especially if I have to use it on two people. I dipped into the shadows as I finally reached the capital's outer walls. Guards were everywhere, but this mission could still be done. I sneaked past two guards right as my ears picked up on their conversation,

"You hear about the new Night Raid member we have to keep an eye out for?" The guy scoffed as the other turned to him

"No. What do they look like?"

"Well apparently they're a neko and-"

I couldn't hear them as I shifted through the wall. Although now my guard is up since they know about me. Surprisingly there wasn't as many guards on the inside, which I found a bit strange. I shifted through the second wall and I was now in the main palace. I decided to check the torture chambers first, since there is a high chance of Tatsumi being there. My tail swayed behind me as I finally made it to the chambers. I cringed as the smell of blood and rotting flesh hit my nose. I almost threw up as I opened the doors, the sight of bloodied men chained to the wall. Blood had stained the floor, and one man tried to reach out for me.

"I'm sorry." I whispered to him as I dodged his hand 

I quickly moved out of the room, checking the other smaller torture chambers. Thankfully Tatsumi wasn't here, but as I made my way out a torturer entered the room. He had his back towards me as he grabbed a rusty scalpel, walking towards the man that had reached out to me earlier. I couldn't stand there and watch this poor man get tortured! I silently pulled out a dagger before running towards the man. I covered the torturer's mouth as I turned him away from the prisoners before slitting his neck. I grabbed the keys that was hanging from his belt before tossing it on the chained man's lap. He looked up at me with happiness before I walked out of the room. 

Now I'm really confused. If Tatsumi wasn't in the torture then where could he be? Could he be in General Esdeath's ro-....that poor boy. I quickly shifted through the floors until I finally found General Esdeath's room. I popped my head through the floor, and saw Tatsumi sitting on the bed,

"Psst Tatsumi!" I whispered before he looked at me 

"What the hell Y/N!?" He hissed as he kneeled next to my head

"Come on I'm here to rescue you!" I smiled as my ears perk with happiness 

I shifted my whole body until I was finally able to stand,

"Y/N you need to leave now. This was a whole trap set by-"

"Set by me." A feminine voice stated

My eyes widened as I turned around. My eyes locked with blue ones as Esdeath stood there with a smirk on her face,

"I've been waiting so long for this moment." She purred as her eyes filled with something I couldn't identify 

Her heels clicked against the floor as she walked towards us. Me and Tatsumi had a much better idea as we continued to walk backwards with each step she took. Tatsumi pushed me behind him, and Esdeath was quick to death glare him,

"Give her to me." She growled as she unsheathed her sword

"I don't think so. You'll never get past me." Tatsumi stood his ground

It was silent for a few seconds until shouts could be heard in the halls,

"PRISONERS HAVE ESCAPED!" I heard a guard yell before a group of prisoner's burst through Esdeath's door

Esdeath quickly turned around as the prisoners rushed at her. I quickly took Tatsumi's hand before shifting to the ground floor. The prisoners were creating chaos as the guards desperately tried to sub due them. Just as Tatsumi and I made it past the gate I heard Esdeath yell,

"STOP THOSE TWO!"

Flashback end  

And that now ties everything together. Anyway back to the chase. Tatsumi and I were desperately trying to get away as the guards seemed relentless in their mission. Tatsumi and I turned a corner only to realize it was a dead end. I looked at Tatsumi as I could hear the footsteps of the guards getting closer,

"Quick! I'll help you over the wall! Then pull me up from the top!" I whispered as I cupped the two of my hands together, getting ready to boost Tatsumi

"Are you sure? W-"

"There's not enough time! Hurry!"

Tatsumi nodded and I quickly helped him to the top of the wall. I grabbed Tatsumi's hand, and I was almost at the top when I felt a horrible pain from my tail. I could tell it was a guard trying to pull me back down as the person seemed to keep tugging on my tail. 

"Come on Y/N! Almost there!" Tatsumi growled 

I looked over my shoulder to see General Esdeath running towards us with another squad of guards.

"Tatsumi you need to let go. I'm not going to make it." 

"What!? I'm not leaving you!" 

"Tatsumi! General Esdeath is coming! Go live your life and tell the others! I'm sure they would want to loose one member rather than two." My eyes filled with tears as Tatsumi's grip didn't falter, "Goodbye Tatsumi." I smiled sadly at him before I dug my claws into his hand, forcing him to let go of me

Tatsumi fell on the other side of the wall while the guards quickly pinned me to the ground. My tail still screamed in pain as metal cuffs were put around my wrists and ankles. One of the guards dragged me out of the alleyway where General Esdeath was waiting. Her eyes lit up as she hugged me close, my face in her boobs. 

"We're going to have so much fun together~" She purred in my ear before yanking me towards the capital

Timeskip 3 years

It's been five years since that fateful night. Later that morning I found out that Tatsumi never did make it out alive. Esdeath killed him in front of me as one of my 'punishments'. And that poor guard that grabbed my tail, actually almost broke it. The poor man didn't have a chance against Esdeath's rage. In the months following Night Raid quickly fell, along with the rebellion. Esdeath decided it was time for us to settle down, so she bought a small cabin outside of the Empire's limits. 

"What are you thinking about?~" Esdeath purred in my ear as her hands gripped my hips tightly

"I-I was t-thinking about how w-we met." I stuttered 

"How sweet." Esdeath smiled as I felt her kiss my neck, "I think it's about time we got more intimate~"
