May worked hard, day and night, in hopes to support Peter and herself after Ben passed. She took any job she could get as long as it meant she could keep going but eventually it all became too much. Bills were piling up, a few of her bosses were messing around with her paychecks and she was so tired.

Peter knew it wouldn't be long until May admitted it to him, before she tied to protect him from the truth, so he decided to follow up on a job he had been offered a few weeks before.

J.J Jameson was the infamous publisher to the popular newspaper, The Daily Bugle, and was forever on the lookout for a photographer to get pictures of Spider-Man or the other Avengers in action. Peter had caught his attention when a few of his pictures he had taken of the Winter Soldier fighting robbers went viral a few months ago.

Peter got the job the moment he applied, he was even given an increase on his first paycheck to upgrade his camera. Soon he was earning a steady income, May had the chance to drop two of her night jobs so she could get some rest for the first time in months and Spider-Man still found time to go on his rounds each night. Peter even helped Ned out under the promise to snap a few pictures of Spider-Man once in a while, splitting his pay from those his friend took.

The thing was, the Avengers had been ordered to keep tabs on Spider-Man but found it hard to pin him down for more than five minutes yet a random kid always knew where he was. They weren't suspicious, just mildly annoyed that a teenager was doing their job better than them without even knowing it.

It got to the point where they decided to go with Plan B: Talk to Peter Parker.

Peter's Friday's went the same each and every week. May would be working, Ned was having date night with Betty, Michelle was doing whatever the hell she did in her spare time and he was waiting for some action, camera at the ready. He had programmed an AI of his own design into his phone (and suit) that alerted him of any crimes taking place or whenever the Avengers were getting into a battle.

He was sat on the low wall of an abandoned skate park, all of the children long gone back to their homes, with his camera around his neck and his bike leaning against the bricks. Peter was snapping a few photo's of the scenery for his account, he just couldn't help himself, and waited for the familiar alert from KAREN.

Sure enough it was only a few minutes until KAREN alerted him of the Avenger's whereabouts but his smile quickly faded when he read the message. KAREN had monitored all of Queen's CCTV cameras and spotted Iron Man flying straight towards him tracking his heat signature, Black Widow and Steve Rodgers following on foot.

Peter jumped back down onto the pavement, glad he had left his Spider-Man suit at home, and set his phone to record. Ned would never believe him otherwise and Peter was sure he'd think it had all been a dream later on.

Iron Man landed his suit a few meters away from where the teenager stood, confused to why he didn't look amazed or shocked in the slightest. He just stood there, perfectly calm, with his hands stuffed in the pocket of his jacket.

Tony stepped out of his suit, revealing him to be in an expensive tailor suit, and walked towards him once Steve confirmed he was nearby with Natasha "Peter Parker?"

The kid sighed and leaned against the wall "Maybe, it depends on who's asking." He smirked to himself. There was nothing more satisfying than deflating someone's ego by pretending not to recognize them. If only he could use that trick on Flash.

Stark ignored the boys sarcasm "What are you doing out so late? Aren't your parents worried about you?"

Peter's eyes darkened, something almost unnoticeable in the moon lit night but something Tony didn't fail to catch "My parents are dead," He couldn't be asked to talk to Stark, even if he was his hero, because he had already guessed why he was here. He wouldn't be the first to come to him in their search for Spider-Man but he would, however, be the first to leave their meeting unscathed "My Aunt doesn't mind me going out late, it's all part of my job anyway."

"Listen, kid, I'm just going to cut to the chase," Stark was already feeling guilty about confronting a teenager "You seem to always know where Spider-Man is and my boss is making me look for him. All I need is for you to take me to him once or just tell me how you track him down, then we're done here."

Peter pretended to think about it but in reality he had already decided how it was going to go before Stark had even opened his mouth "No. I'm good." He smiled mischievously.

Steve chuckled into the comms, Tony had finally met his match. Stark did his best to ignore his annoying teammate "I'm not in the mood for you to mess around with me kid. It's not like Spider-Man would ever know."

"He would," Peter muttered, spiking Tony's interest, and continued in a louder voice "You're not the only person who has come looking for him, you won't be getting anything from me. I don't care why you're searching for him, it doesn't matter, because I made a promise."

"Why do you act like you've met him?" Tony raised an eyebrow.

"I have once or twice, enough to know he doesn't want people following him. Don't worry either, I won't go sharing how I find you people in action," Peter frowned. His phone let out the alert, warning him that The Vulture had broken out of prison and was one second away from creating chaos downtown in a notification "Speaking of which, Spidey's old pal 'The Vulture' is a few miles East, duty calls."

Peter shoved his phone in his pocket and hopped on his bike, quickly peddling towards where the villain was causing trouble. He didn't have to look behind him, he could already sense the three Avengers following him to prevent any deaths.

He had a feeling he was going to get some great pictures that evening.
