Tzuyu heard her name being called as she exited the school grounds. It was Bam Bam. Yugyeom was running beside him. When they caught up, Bam Bam placed his hand on her shoulder and tried to catch his breath. Then he looked up with worry in his eyes.
"Tzuyu-ah, did you actually kill my Chae?"
Yugyeom looked at him like he had lost his peanut butter sandwiches. "Hyung, why in the world would she do that?" he asked. But his question was ignored.
"Tzu, tell me. Did you actually?"
Tzuyu, clearly confused by his behavior and offended by his question, yelled, "No! Why would I kill my own best friend?"
" 'Cuz she didn't call me yet!" Bam Bam muttered, startled by her yelling.
Realization hit Tzuyu like a splash of water. "Wow, you're dumber than I thought, Bam Bam."
Yugyeom stifled his laughter. "You know that his dumbness level is higher than Einstein's IQ, right?"
"Shut up!" This was the matter of her unnie's love life. She turned to Bam Bam. "I just forgot to tell her. Isn't that obvious?"
"Huh? But I also tried calling her, though," he told her.
"I don't know. Maybe her battery died or something. Why didn't you go to visit her?" She narrowed her eyes. "Or have you been too busy just trying to call her?"
Bam Bam rubbed the back of his neck guiltily. "Uh, yeah."
"Gosh! Then why don't you go now?!"
"Okay, fine, I'm going!" He gave a nervous laugh and took off back towards the dorm building. Yugyeom and Tzuyu watched him go. He stumbled on the last stair step and almost hit his chin on the railing. He turned around and gave them a thumbs-up and disappeared.
Tzuyu shook her head. "Seriously, how do you deal with him?"
"I don't know. Maybe I'm just too used to it now," Yugyeom answered.
"It must have been really hard at first."
"Trust me, it was."
"You remember when the two of us went to the supermarket together, a couple months ago? For Irene unnie's birthday?"
"Yeah?"
"That idiot fricking wanted me to buy him ice cream and hold his hand so he wouldn't get lost."
"And you're telling me that now?" Yugyeom grinned.
"Oh, I kinda promised him I wouldn't. That kid was too embarrassed."
"Wow, looks like someone is not good at keeping promises."
"I didn't exactly promise him."
Yugyeom laughed but then his eyes widened. "Uh, Tzu? What time is it?"
"Why?" She turned on her phone. "It's four... YUGYEOM, IT'S FOUR FIFTY-SEVEN!"
"Oh no..." He grabbed her hand and pulled her into a sprint. They stormed down the streets, pushing past people with dogs, and women with babies in carts, who yelled at them for getting bumped into.
They ran and ran until they finally got to the bakery. Luckily, the manager didn't notice them sneaking into the kitchen. They were only a couple minutes late.
Yugyeom took over the cash register while Tzuyu got the cookies and chocolate tarts ready. After a while, they switched shifts.
It was a long and tiring hour. Sixty more minutes to go. You can survive this, Tzuyu! FIGHTING!
