Lisa had no clue where Jennie was. The least she expected was a text, but she didn't even get as much as a glance of the DJ after she finally escaped the bathroom. It was either that he already left like he'd been instructed to do, or he was hiding somewhere now that his job was done, waiting for the drama to begin. But she decided to take that as a good sign and, steering clear of any suspicion, began her search for her two former best friends now that the coast was safe from Jennie's sharp eyes.
To her dismay, she saw them right before they both were taken outside by their boyfriends. She wanted to run after them but thought better of it. It would definitely look fishy to whoever paid any attention to her; the wig that she wore had come undone from her bobby pins. And anyway, the two were bound to take her uninvited presence the wrong way if she just showed up before them.
She was sure as the sun was hot that she'd be given no time to make excuses and would be kicked out with more shame and embarrassment than what she was here to recover. The blame for the poisoning would also end up on her.
And Jennie would get away with it again, her dignity returned, because surely no one would be stupid enough to think that she had no hand in this--
Thinking about poisoning, Lisa realized she hadn't seen anybody get sick yet. It had almost been fifty minutes to an hour since the first bottle went down the bowl of fruit punch but no one seemed at the brink of throwing up.
She curiously cast a look at the bowl by the spiral staircase, and to her relief, it was still as full as she had last seen it.
Come to think of it, she saw that the main hall was much emptier than before. Through the windows, she could see that about a third of the guests had left for the garden, and for some reason, a lot seemed as if they were drunk, just like Taehyung and Jungkook had. The rest of the group that was staying for the sleepover might've retired to their rooms since Lisa could see strips of golden lights lighting up the second and third floor landings.
Calling was not an option because she was sure to get hung up on before the first ring could get through. She whipped out her phone and, hoping she wasn't already blocked, she texted Jisoo. Jisoo would know what to do.
One method she'd found useful to get quick replies was to spam the person with texts and, considering her situation, she had to start off with something that had to catch Jisoo's attention. Such was her situation that Lisa knew she wouldn't be able to take care of it herself. Her mind was all muddled up and she had to find a way to put away the bowl without Jennie noticing-if she was still around-and let Jisoo and Rosé know what was really up.
And . . . she wanted to apologize.
Lisa: Jisoo unnie, it's me, Lisa.
Lisa: Something happened. Please read what I have to say before jumping to conclusions.
Lisa: Jennie's back it again.
Lisa: She forced me to come along and she's poisoned one of the fruit punch bowls with Ipecac syrup.
Lisa: You know what that is right?
Lisa: So far no one has drunk from it.
Lisa: I don't know where Jennie is and the DJ is involved as well.
Lisa: Please find Chae and come back.
Lisa: I'm in the foyer and hurry before someone gets seriously sick.
Lisa: I could do something myself but someone might see me.
