The party was rollicking.

Soon as the guests stepped out of their car, the loud banging of boosted music against the mansion walls beat the notes into their ears. Their eyes were blinded by the flashes of colorful Litake party lights and disco ball strobes slashing into the air to the sky, disappearing beyond sight.

The path leading up to the manor was lined up with purple and blue LED light-up BoBo balloons, and the building itself vanished into the darkening sky and reappeared in the blinking glows of lights flashing onto the walls from the outside.

Little by little, trains of cars roved into the parking lot—that the Parks had rented for the occasion—through the swinging entrance gates and slowly filled up the long rows of slots until none were left, leaving late drive-ins to groan in frustration and find a parking spot somewhere near where a long walk back wouldn't be a bother to deal with.

Soon, the grey of the cemented road found itself concealed under the hues of colorful rainbows, as people emerged from their tiny modern carriages and stood to wait for their friends to arrive, while others walked away to the mansion, ready to let the early fun of it engulf them in madness.

Nayeon bounced out of Yoongi's car like a beach ball hitting the sand, too energetic to let her body be stuffed into the three-feet space of the car any longer.

Jeongyeon followed, hastily fending off a short bicker with her tall freak boyfriend (that they'd given Yoongi a headache with) and stood next to her friend.

Both girls smoothed down their outfits in the bright glows of yellow headlights, Nayeon's a purple off-shoulder halter frock and Jeongyeon's a maroon lace-up top with black, skin-tight jeans. Dresses? What are those? she'd said. There's no way I'm showing all that skin.

Namjoon approved.

Before their boyfriends could wrap up the mess they'd made with the bags and wrappers of snacks they brought along the way, the two bounded off across the place like a couple of rabbits to greet Tzuyu and Jungkook, who'd just drove in behind them and were now flirting with each other on each side of their car.

While Yoongi saw the maknaes' parking slot before Jungkook did, Jungkook realized that it was an easier park and sped up for the spot before Yoongi could steer the wheel around. That had just added fuel to Yoongi's irritation at the "what-does-getting-along-mean?" couple, causing him to curse so loudly, as he steered away from a near-crash, that Nayeon doubted the music they'd been blasting in the car could have covered it up.

Guess who was in trouble now . . . She smirked to herself, imagining that Bunny two-point-O lowering his head in embarrassment as Yoongi's anger took off. Hehe.

A car honked at them from behind.

Startled, the girls jumped fifty feet into elevation. The sound was so loud that their eardums rang painfully. The hair on their skin stood up on their ends. Nayeon screamed.

The car suddenly jerked forward, almost as if the driver hadn't seen them and was about slam against them when the vehicle came to another stop. The girls stumbled back in utter fright and Nayeon's foot gave way.

They swung around to see two jerks snickering from the windows of the vehicle. The glass was fully rolled down for a better view of their paled expressions.

Jeongyeon swore at them.

Nayeon held on to her and righted herself up from her stumble, wincing.

The headlights blinded their eyes, but they didn't need to look past the beams to know who it was who honked at them. The head lights turned off for a few seconds and suddenly back on. Pain shot through Nayeon's head.
