How could she do that?

What have I ever done to her?

I don't even remember the last time I talked to her.

It was all just so unexpected.

I did not even know he liked me!

It wasn't my fault!

"Sana?"

Sana quickly turned around. She could see Nayeon and Jeongyeong walking out to the college courtyard, looking around. She had a clear view of her friends from behind the pillar of the ancient monument. She watched as they exited the gates, looking for her, thinking that she had escaped from the college property, escaped from all the embarrassment. But they knew that a girl like Sana is no coward, they knew that she would show up with her head held high.

After her unnies disappeared down the street, Hoseok, Jin, and Yoongi appeared, also searching for her. She waited until they, too, were out of sight. Sure that they all were gone now, she scampered to the back of the monument, and into the forest she went. The forest opened into an open space where she often spent her time to get away from life. But life these days life had been pretty good and she hadn't been there for years. She still remembered the time when she had spent countless hours in that vast empty space, alone in the darkness, mourning the death of her parents.

Yes, she was an orphan, just like Mina and Tzuyu. But no one knew. Not even her best friends. She didn't dare to tell them. She had seen how those two were dealing with life without parentage. She had seen how others pitied them, felt bad for them. But those people did not care. As long as they were in the girls' good book, they didn't have to worry about actually doing something for them, to make their lives a little better.

Sana had grown into a strong, beautiful woman without a true family. She was raised by two foster parents who loved her like their own but who failed to give her the actual feeling of a parent.

Sana was the last to join the group of her closest friends. Despite her outgoing personality, her personal life was the least known among them. But no one asked. As long as she was happy and they loved her, her friends did not butt in. They were better than anyone could've asked for.

Sana walked around in the open for hours. She had not imagined that she would come here ever again, alone. She had been planning on bringing her friends with her someday, and turn this lonely, depressing place the opposite way. Guess not.

Her chest felt heavy with sorrow. She dropped down her head and smiled.

There it was, the only thing left to remind of her past life before that accident took everything away from her.

Sitting down on the ground, she clipped open the locket and stared at the two faces smiling lovingly back at her.

Mom, Dad, I miss you guys.

No one knew, until now.

Jennie had witnessed the whole scene, and she knew that the accident was Sana's fault. Who had told that stupid young girl to get into an argument with her parents? Who told her to yell at her parents that she would rather have them dead? Who told that stupid Sana to stand at the edge of that cliff on a stormy night?

No one. No one had told her, but her heart. It was not strong enough to deal with that strict life. It couldn't deal with that poor life. It got jealous of that rich brat next door. It got jealous of her rich family and rich friends.

That brat, Kim Jennie kept pointing out the lack of real happiness in her life. Sana had stood up to her but was weakened when she began to realize that what that girl was saying was true. Her parents never had her back. They kept telling her to deal with it because that's what rich people do.
