I puffed as I quickly skated down the driveway towards my father's mansion, as the weather decided it was the perfect time to start lightly raining. I swiftly hopped off of my skateboard and ran for refuge into the huge warm house.

As I slammed the door shut, I clutched my board to my chest and let out a loud exhale. I was so glad to be home; I mean I always am but today I appreciated it more than the other times because this school is starting to majorly get on my nerves.

First, we had a pop quiz in maths, second, I managed to step in a deep puddle causing my whole shoes to be saturated and yes just one shoe not two and three the cafeteria ran out of tater tots right when I was next in line for them.

"Yay, your finally home!" My brother yelled from the large living room.

"Well at least someone appreciates me." I laughed as I sat my bag and skateboard down by the door.

As I walked into the living room, I came face to face with my brother who was wrapped up in a fluffy blanket on the large L shaped couch, his eyes were partly glued to the massive flat screen TV that was mounted onto the wall above the expensive fireplace.

"How was school kiddo?" Sam asked as he turned down the lacrosse game, he was watching so it was mere background noise.

"Terrible." I groaned as I flopped down onto the couch dramatically next to him.

"Humor me." He grinned sitting up and looking down at me.

"The cafeteria ran out of tater tots." I cried out

"How dare they!" Sam yelled as he pretended to be hurt by what I just said.

"I know." I fake sniffled.

"Well I hear that Melrose's makes the best tater tots." Sam smirked with a cheeky wink.

"I like where you're going but shouldn't we wait for dad?" I asked feeling slightly bad if we went and got food without dad.

"Nah he left a note saying that he would be working late from the office again, he left us some money for dinner as well." He said holding up two twenty-dollar bills.

"Well can I at least go up and have a shower and get into some more comfy clothes?" I asked sitting up.

"Of course, take your time, the game still has a while to go anyway." Sam grinned.

I gave him a nod as he reached for the remote and turned the game back up. I took that as my cue to scurry upstairs and get out of these slightly damp wet clothes.

Walking into my en-suite bathroom I turned the shower on warm, as I waited for the water to warm up, I took out my contact lenses and stripped out of my school uniform.

Yes, if you were wondering I wear glasses well contact lenses when I'm at school and I wear my thick black glasses when I'm at home. The reason I don't wear my glasses at school is because I used to get bullied for it in middle school, a group of my supposed class mates would call me 'four eyes' or 'nerd'.

But no, I'm not blind, I'm short sighted which means I can see objects perfectly when they are close to me but I can't see far away objects as they are blurry and extremely hard to make out.

I quickly jump into the warm water which seems to instantly sooth my cold skin, I wash my body with my jasmine scented body wash and rinse soon after. I don't bother having a really long shower as all I could think about was the heavenly tater tots my brother promised Melrose's coffee house would have.
