L for...

The assignment was to find a word for every letter and then exchange your "alphabets" with the person next to you. Your eyes swivelled to your right quickly before settling on the paper again. This could be your chance to finally-

"Focus, Venus." He whispered but kept his head down. You sent him a playful scowl, but concentrated. Luhan had come to England from China and joined your class start of the term; it hadn't taken you long to develop a crush on him and the more time you'd spent with him, the harder you fell. Your pencil stocked when you hit the letter L; your mind going haywire trying to figure out if you should risk it. One last glance at Luhan and you scribbled the word down before you could change your mind and moved on quickly.

"Swap sheets everyone." The teacher's voice rang out and you handed Luhan the sheet quickly; he threw you a somewhat funny look but gave you his sheet equally as quickly with a smile. The concept behind this exercise didn't make sense to you but then again this was Mediation and lots of things didn't make sense in this class. your eyes traveled over the paper and your breath hitched once they came to rest on the letter V. "Venus" was written there in Luhan's neat handwriting. Eyes wide you looked over at the guy next to you, who was smiling sheepishly.

"I guess I'm not alone." He whispered and tapped the paper with his pen. Dropping your eyes to the paper, you saw him tapping the word you had written for L- or rather the name. Luhan. A blush spread over your cheeks but ou raised your eyes to his boldly and smiled. 

"I guess so." You whispered so the teacher wouldn't hear.

"Listen, I have Advanced Maths after this but meet me at the swings after school, okay?" He rushed as the bell rang. You didn't even have time to confirm the meeting, he was out the door that fast. He must really love Maths. You chuckled to yourself and headed up to the Art Department to pass the free hour till your meeting. 

Finally the bell rang to signal the end of last period. Tidying your brushes away your burshed away any excess paint (which didn't really work out that well, splatters of red paint sticking to your fingers) and hurried down the stairs and out the back door towards the swingset. Luhan wasn't there yet so you plopped down on one of the swings and waited. Not long after Luhan came rushing out of the science tract. 

"Sorry-" He panted. "Eppes held me back to talk about- ach doesn't matter." He smiled and sat down on the second swing. 

"It's okay. I've only been here a few minutes and it's quite warm for this time of year." You smiled and rocked forward a bit, looking at your shoes. 

"So... L for Luhan, huh?" Feeling your cheeks heat up, your looked up into the sky, the cool breeze hitting your warm cheeks.

"V for Venus, huh?" You grinned and finallt looked at him. He laughed and did this thing where his chin disappeared. You'd heard the other girls say how it made him less attractive but you couldn't help but find it... somehow... cute? He'd sobered up and looked slightly uncomfortable.

"I'm not the prettiest laugher- if that is even a word." He sad under his breath.

"I think it's cute." You said slowly and equally as quiet, but he heard you and stopped his swing from what little movements it had made.

"Cute?" He asked as if to reassure himself that he'd heard you right and no matter how much you wanted to, you couldn't turn away from him; you couldn't say anything either though so you just nodded and finally turned your head away and focused on a passing bird in the sky. 

"Venus?" His voice sent shivers down your spine and you turned your head to look back at him.

"L for... L-ike?" He said slowly. It seemed like he was about to say love, but you knew that you couldn't possibly be in love already: you nodded slowly and Luhan surprised you with a brilliant smile and leaning forward, closer to you. His soft lips pressed against your cheek and he continued to whisper things in your ear, until the little prep-school girls came running out of their classes and ran up to you. They swarmed you and you couldn't help but laugh. Luhan soon joined and while playing wth the little ones, you could feel his eyes on you occasionally, not that you could keep your eyes off of him either. 

L for Like, I guess.
