Here's the new chapter 💘

A soft knock distracted me and Hunter peeked from behind the door. He beamed once he saw that I was awake.

"Can I?" he asked for permission and I just nodded.

He walked into the room and over to me, his soft, gentle eyes analysing me shrewdly. He was wearing a black collar shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbow and dark jeans, his hair was pushed up as always but kinda wild.

When he reached the edge of the bed, he surprised me by leaning down and kissing my forehead. I didn't flinch from the touch as I was too tired to fight him.

"May I sit?"

I nodded and he dragged the chair closer to the bed and sat down.

I remained mute. No, not because I was afraid. As a matter of fact, I really don't know what to say to him.

After a few minutes of silence, he finally broke it, "I'm sorry. This is all my fault. I did this to you, to us." his gaze dropped down to the floor.

"I'm just glad that you and our baby are okay. That's all that matters to me."

Instinctively, I reached out and ran my fingers through his soft hair, "Hunter?"

He lifted his head up and grasped my hand, squeezing it tightly, bringing it to his rough cheek, "Yes?"

"How long have I been here?" I asked.

He sighed, "24 hours."

"I called Quinn and told her about what happened. I know, you wouldn't even want to look at me so I figured maybe you'll talk to her."
