Chapter One The Demon child and a new begining

The Nine tailed Fox, the demon of the land of fire as its one of nine devastatingly powerful creatures that have the raw power and chakra to destroy the world and so both to protect the world at large as well as keep war profiters/ politicains and the five great nations in check the tailed beast were bound to human host known as jinjuriki; who are also utilized in the world of ninja as living weapons. But what would happen when a jinjuiki gives birth and the monster is unleashed? For mysteries unknown, despite Lord Fourth sensei and Lady Kushina giving birth to a healthly baby boy, he'll have to face much hardship in this ninja world not only as an orphan but as the vessel to something very powerful. The power that nearly destroyed the village and everyone in it. Minato-sensei knew the risks as well as the fact that not only as a man but as Hokage, he considered everyone as family. Precautions were made but somehow everything went wrong and now they're gone. Just like with everyone else, I failed;Father, Obito, Rin, Minato-sensei and Lady Kushina. I failed them all and I only have my pride to blame. If only... If only I could've done more... I should have done more...I

At that moment I could feel a pair of arms wrap around me  and tears dripping down my neck. I'm writing in my journal again while monologing my thoughts. She must've heard me. "Mina please go back to bed", I tell her. "Not without you Kakashi", Mina replied. "We sleep in seprate rooms Mina and since we're at that age its better that way", I spout back. "I don't mind Kakashi I'll always be here for you no matter what", Mina declared as she sat next to my chair. Mina an orphan girl that I developed a friendship with though she's more like family to me like a little sister. However, for as long as I've known her she's always been by my side telling me she loves me and has never faltered or ran from me despite my reputation... and the darkness I carry. "Kakashi I would like to make a request at the Hokage's office. Would you go with me?", Mina asked. Since I'm a member of the Special Andu Black Ops and I captain no less I do have some leeway such as guranteeing an audience with the Hokage. However, I can't abuse that privellige though Mina puts up with so much for me at the cost of herself. It can be hard putting up with an raging emo after all. "Fine just don't ask for anything stupid alright", I answered closing the book. Mina nodded as she fell asleep beside me. I sighed and wrapped a blanket around her and for once I stayed by her side. I felt at peace but in order to protect her this can't be more. 

The next day after a memorial service and renouncing speech for the fallen and the resurgence of Lord Hiruzen's administration, Kakashi and Mina visit the Hokage's office to voice Mina's request though he doubts Lord Third will honor it. After showing credentials and hoping that Lord Third wasn't too busy given everything that has happened, he wrapped his arm around his blue haired companion in a very supportive and comforting gesture though Mina gets flustered and reads the situation in a more romantic light. Kakashi flustered retracts himself and tells Mina not to get any funny ideas. "That all depends on you Kakashi hehehe", Mina replied flirtatiously. Kakashi just gritted his teeth behind his mask in frustration.    

Mina's relationship despite being platonic with Kakashi for around a year and a half or so still left an impact on Kakashi and helped guide to the light within the darkness after everything's he's been through. "Ah Kakashi Its good to see you and you brought your girlfriend no less hehehe", Lord Third teased. Kakashi begrudgingly laughed along out of respect. "With all due respect Lord Hokage, I humbly request the custody of Lord Fourth's orphan goes to us", Mina pleaded with head bowed. Lord Third was stern and silent while Kakashi was internally furious "WHY THE HELL DID SHE ASK THAT?!!! I TOLD BER NOT TO ASK FOR ANYTHING STUPID!!!", Kakashi ranted to himself. Mina then went on to pitch how her and Kakashi would not only be ideal candidates or even parent figures for the young baby Naruto. 

 Alas, Lord Third rightfully rejects this also considering that the young girl was trying to use the child to bound her and Kakashi closer together. Hiruzen ponders to himself if he wanted to "friendzone" or outright reject her these past few months, he would have done it long before now. "Though given the effects of becoming so high ranked amid the war as well as the fate of Team Minato, its' only natural that he's so reserved. Perhaps...", Hiruzen thinks to himself. After smoking his pipe or cigar it's not clear, Lord Third grants them permission to watch over the boy as babysitters or sibling figures especially in the aftermath of Minato's death. Danzo is known for his political maneuvering and shady tactics but without exposing root he can't really do anything besides one of the jinjuriki's bodyguards is Kakashi of the Sharingan aka the copy ninja, so he bids his tongue for now. Mina has always been protective of Naruto since outside of being the vessel for a tailed beast, he's an outsider or outcast much like she was when she first left the estate to save her life only difference is that Mina was in her pre-teens whereas Naruto was a new-born. Mina whether in a pure act of sisterly devotion or maternal instinct refused to let him be alone.

 Over the years, Mina was quite accustomed to her sister role and Naruto saw her in that same light though next to Iruka Sensei Kakashi was like an older brother if not second father-figure. Despite the fact that he's been alone all his life and most of the villagers hate him, they gave him some perspective on what a normal like would be like. There was a shake-up in Naruto's surrogate life however when Angsty-emo rookie of the year not only gets adopted by an older Kakashi but on top of that they get assigned to the same squad together. Naruto and Sasuke pretty much hate each other. Unlike canon where they were rivals and "brothers"via chakra reincarnation, thanks to Mina willing to pickup the slack (when Kakashi is out on missions or gets dragged into some crazy challenge by Might Guy) Naruto and Sasuke are raised as actual brothers thanks to being adopted after the events of the Uchiha massacre of course. Naruto still lives in the abandoned Uzumaki residence because Naruto is too stubborn and defiant to be taken in by the two seeing as an act of pity; and he'll show them and everyone in the village that he's more than a loser and he'll become Hokage believe it!!!This annoys Sasuke in the fact that Naruto is not only a good for nothing loser but a delusional brat who can't stay grounded. Kakashi understands his outlook at one point not being too far off it himself. But he tells Sasuke "sometimes it's okay to dream". Though Mina packs meals for Naruto and constantly nags and gripes at him like a big sister should since Naruto is a bit of a slob. She even makes an alternate outfit based on Naruto's own jumpsuit but its Kakashi's and later Sasuke's colors blue and white. He thanks her but loudly refuses to wear it claiming that he doesn't need handouts. This leads to a motherly gag where Mina starts to look demonically menacing and complains that wearing thesame thing all day everyday does not make a Hokage. "A Hokage-worthy ninja must be able to put their pride aside and adapt to any situation believe it hahahahaha", Mina quips triumphantly. Naruto growls in frustration as he"agrees" to wear the blue and white to the training session tomorrow. (which weknow as the bell test lol) Mina with a joyful smile prepares to leave Naruto for the night when the boy's curiosity lets him speak up. Naruto asks his big sister why she's so obsessed with Kakashi and she in response recounts everything in Kakashi x Mina Gaiden (AU: which I highly recommend reading for yourself). After her tale, Naruto then asks why did the Fourth Hokage bind the Nine-tailed Fox to him when he sacrificed himself? Mina rather devoted to the boy couldn't bring herself to lie to him; though Kakashi will probably scold her in the morning. "Because he had faith in you as his son", Mina replied with a smile.
