"That's in my stomach?" I asked looking at the x-ray scan.
"Yep. Unfortunately." Dr.Greyson said.
"Well. We can't just stand here get it out of her!" Toby demanded.
"It will take time but I can do it."
"How long?" I asked.
"Ten hours surgical time."
"That's a long time."
"It's either that or a lot of pain."
"Surgery it is."
"I'll meet you two out front to schedule the date."
"I'm so sorry." Britt said and followed Dr.Greyson out of the room.
"Thing how could they call it a thing." I was getting angry.
"Spencer calm down."
"Toby it was just a little baby. Something so small and precious."
"Pretty much." Toby said running his fingers through his hair. I could tell he was trying to be strong for me.
I blinked a couple of times because of how much my eyes burned from lack of sleep and not closing them enough.
"Okay let's go make that appointment I'm ready to feel better."
"What's got you in a sudden change in mood?"
"I really hate hospitals."
"Technically were...." I cut him off.
"Toby just shut up, just shut up."
He laughed and whispered " It's not a hospital."
"I technically hate you right now."
"Aw don't be like that now let's get that paper work signed and appointment scheduled."
"Ugh!"
He wheeled me down to the receptionist and we made the appointment for Saturday which was in two days. Gosh. This was going to be one of the worst days of my life.
Saturday morning:
I sat in the waiting room with my leg bouncing up and down. Toby had to do some makeup work so I told him to stay back at his loft and that I could handle this.
"Spence!" I turned my head and saw Aria and Hanna running towards me.
"Toby called us he told us about the surgery and were not going to let you go through this alone." Aria said grabbing my hand and sitting in a chair next to me.
"Even if it means sitting in a uncomfortable ugly ass hospital chair for 10 despairing hours. So be it." Hanna said.
"You have know idea how much that means to me." I said tearing up.
"It better cause like 3 kids sneezed on me on the way down here." She said while pulling a miniature bottle of hand sanitizer out of her purse.
"Han." Aria said.
"Spencer Hastings?" The receptionist called.
"That's me."
"Good luck." Aria wished me.
"If I get an infection out here it's your fault." Hanna shouted after me and I let out a small laugh.
"What is wrong with you?" I faintly heard Aria say.
"What?" Hanna said back.
"Our best friend is having surgery and your worried about getting an infection because some kid sneezed on you?"
"But they..."
"Just move on."
"Ugh." She pouted.
I walked through the double doors meeting Dr.Greyson.
"You ready?"
"Ready as I'll ever be."
"Let's get that thing out."
If he calls my baby a thing one more time I swear I will slap him.
"Do you know if it was a girl or boy?"
"It was to early to tell."
"Oh."
"But I don't suggest trying for a baby Spencer. It's too dangerous for your health and the baby's as you can see. Now follow me and let's get this over with as soon as possible."
I just nodded and followed him. I didn't feel the need to argue anymore.
