Chapter 28

"Hey guys!" I shouted running in the living room and sliding on the hardwood floor falling on my butt.
"Wo Spence." Toby laughed running towards me helping me up.
"Emily's on her way over!"
As soon as Toby lifted me up I started sliding again because of my fuzzy socks I had on.
"Okay, okay we get the message that your excited." He said holding me tight in his arms so I wouldn't slip again.
"I'm sorry I can't help it it's been forever since I've seen her and Maya."
"Spence when are we going Christmas tree shopping?" Aria asked me.
"Wo that's a change of subject." Hanna said taking a big sip of hot chocolate.
"Um..I've never had a Christmas tree."
"WHAT!" Everyone said at once.
"Spence you've never had a Christmas tree."
"Well my parents always thought that they were dirty and cheque. So we just never really decorated for Christmas."
"Not even a false Christmas tree?" Aria's mouth dropped.
"Nope."
Then I heard a knock at the door. Just in time I was ready for this conversation to end.
"It's her! Everyone act natural."
Toby rolled his eyes at me. I placed my hand on the doorknob.
"Don't give me that look."
"I didn't give you a look."
"Whatever." I shook it off and opened the door to Emily sobbing.
"Hi Em...wait Emily what's wrong?"
She sniffled.
"Can I come in and tell you?"
"Yea of course. Toby could you please get her luggage?"
"Sure."
I helped her take off her heavy winter coat and the all of us sat down in front of the fireplace.
"Em what's wrong?" Aria asked rubbing her back.
"Yea. Where's Maya?"
She started choking on her breath and covered her mouth as tears poured out of her eyes.
"Maya won't be coming around for a long while." She whispered.
"What. Why not?"
"She died six months ago." and then she collapsed into my arms and busted into full on tears.
That's when everyone looked at each other with wide eyes. As in what the hell just happened.
"Here's you some fresh tea." Aria said placing it in her hands.
"The funeral was so hard for me." She sniffled.
"Em it will eventually stop hurting." Hanna said.
"I'm going to die alone."
"No your not."
"There's always Samara or Paige...what?" I gave Hanna a dirty look after bringing up other girls."
Her eyes lit up.
"Could you hand me my phone."
"Oh my god Emily Fields your such a player." Hanna said.
Emily let out a small chuckle.
"Ah we got her to smile." Aria elbowed me.
