Chapter 7

Erica: "Hey, I'm taking Meredith Grey from you this week. Her mother was a good surgeon, and I want to see what she's like."

Mark: "Well, that's not how it works here. You get assigned a resident. There's a schedule."

Erica: "Well, the schedule doesn't take into account certain things."

Mark: "Like what?"

Erica: "Like the fact that I don't want Yang. You can have Stevens. She's good, and I'm sure Shepherd won't mind." she says walking away from the OR board as Derek and Sky come over to Mark who's watching her leave

Derek: "Won't mind what?"

Mark: "Oh, she's sassy."

Derek: "She's a woman of substance. You two have nothing in common."

Sky: "Should I be offended?" she asks mainly herself as they follow Derek over to a nurses desk

Derek: "Oh, I'm late. I had to drop off the chief's dry cleaning."

Sky: "You're doing his laundry?"

Derek: "We're helping each other out."

Mark: "Yeah? What's he doing?"

Derek: "He has an extensive dvd collection."

Mark: "You're dating the chief." he states before walking away as Derek watches him before turning to Sky in confusion

Derek: "I'm not dating the chief, am I?" he asks as she turns to give him an offended look

Sky: "I don't know. A woman of substance might be able to tell you." she snaps before walking away from him as he watches her with a sigh

Woman: "Help! My...my baby. I-I was carrying her down the stairs and I fell,anshe hit her head. She was crying in the car, and now she's not crying anymore.  I'm too scared to look. Someone please tell me my baby's alive." she calls out in a panic as she rushes into the ER while holding her baby close to her chest

Sky: "Okay, let me have the baby..."

Woman: "She can't be dead, right? You don't die from just falling down the stairs. She's..."

Sky: "Please, let me help. Let me help. I'll take the baby. That's fine. Okay." she says taking the baby from her arms and bringing her over to a bed

Woman: "Oh, my god. Oh, my god."

Sky: "Yang." she says wanting her to make the woman back up a little so she can check on the baby

Cristina: "Ok, ma'am. Just let Dr. Rivers do her job."

Sky: "She's breathing. Her fontanelle feels Tense. She's lethargic. Take her to trauma two and page Shepherd." she says to Lexie who takes hold of the baby and walks away

Woman: "Thank you."

Sky: "You're welcome."

Woman: "Thank you so much. Thank you." she says pulling Cristina into a hug

Cristina: "Okay, ma'am, um, you can, uh,stop hugging me so I can take care of your baby."

Sky: "Got this?" she asks as Cristina gives her an awkward look before going to follow after Lexie

Derek: "Your baby has a slight brain contusion. Her brain's bruised.It's minor. But I'd like to keep her here for observation." he says to the father after he arrives at the hospital

Man: "I-I gotta tell you, Dr. Shepherd, I'm listening to you, but I'm not hearing anything you're saying. Dr. Hahn is taking my wife into surgery right now, and I need to go be with her. You know what you're doing. G-go ahead and do it. I need to go be with my wife."
