Chapter 72: Surprise Ambush

Kassim's POV:

"That plan of yours....Let's do it."

My cousin contacted me after the attempt to kidnap Sarina failed and she had to suffer through a strong dosage of drugs shot by a sniper.

Leone's was initially against the plan after what happened in Danati but at the same, it is also proving to be a temptation to me.

Because of her memory loss, Sarina has treated me like an old friend, her gentle smile and sweet voice were just a few things that make me feel happy as my eyes follow her every movement.

Even the maternal way she cares for my sister Safirah whenever they were together only cemented the attraction I feel for her.

Once again, I wonder if I had met her first before Leone did. Would she have fallen for me instead?

But if I dare to wish for more, it would surely end this fragile bond I am trying to rebuild with my cousin...

As I contemplated these conflicted thoughts in my head, a movement in the penthouse gardens caught my eye as my sister pulled Sarina towards the pool, her black wavy hair cascading behind her as she laughed while they sat on the edges and sunk their feet into the depths of the clear waters.

Again...my cousin's words came back to me.

"Keep her safe here for a few days and keep her away from the internet and all devices. In a few days, I will resolve this and make sure Laila is dealt with."

His words sounded serious, full of conviction and it seems like he does not harbor any lingering feelings for our former lover....

The cruel schemes she orchestrated all for her lust of power. It is a major turn off for any sane man.

"Until then...we will stay here. This place is privy to only a few people which includes Luis, a few trusted Mirage Agents, and me. We are safe here, away from Laila's spies." I murmured softly.

"Kas?"

I turned and saw that she and Safirah were slightly wet. I suppose they must have had fun splashing water at each other for fun.

How adorable and happy my sister is right now with her wet limbs and flushed face as she hugged Sarina.

The duchess on the other hand, was also wet but the sun's light made the sundress transparent, outlining her luscious curves and her rather lacey underwear.

"I need to take Lilly inside for a change, Kas." She told me before ushering my sister inside the house while they exchanged a few words together.

I swallowed as I felt my cock hardened fully at what I saw. She was too unguarded, too naive to think she is safe with me. I suppose I should be happy that her past memories of me were still forgotten or else she would never show me this type of smile and sweetness...

This may be exactly what Laila would want. She would be all too happy to push Sarina into my arms so that she can have Leone. Her spies would have surely given her the information already.

I managed to calm down when she returned a while later dressed in a modest long sleeve dress shirt and leggings after my sister fell asleep since she always takes naps in the afternoon.

"Thanks for letting me stay here for a while. I told Leone I would be fine with a lockdown stay in his apartment but he says you can keep me safe while he is on a business trip."  She said as she started pulling a few items from the fridge and started cooking in the kitchen, her movements were calm and natural.
