Zara's POV

With the aid of my sweaty palms, I push the door of the car open. It's out of my cognition that why I am feeling this hot when a night before, I was quivering due to cold and fever. Probably this is the fallout of medicines that I have consumed to treat my flu. With this notion, I get off the car and paces towards inside.

I dab the sweat droplets off my forehead with the handkerchief as I walk inside the kitchen. The maids get attentive to me but I ignore their stares and service questions as I rush towards the refrigerator. The weather is changing drastically, as sometimes it gets hot and sometimes frigid.

I take out a freezing water bottle from inside the refrigerator and attach it to my mouth as I settle myself on the dining chair. A reek of cold refreshing water trots down my scorched throat sending soothing sensations all inside my body. I wipe the dripping water from the ridges of my mouth with the help of my hand as I seal the bottle again with its lid.

My eyes drift to my phone in my bag's front pocket when it begins ringing. I jostle the bottle aside with my one hand as my other one leads to my bag to pick my phone from inside it. My eyebrows furrow in confusion when I see Mr. Wajahat's name illuminating on its screen. What does he want to tell me now? Maybe there is a progress in Dad's case. I was about to press the green tab when the call gets cut. I call him back promptly, but to my dismay, his phone becomes power off. I wonder what he has to inform me. Conceivably, I should visit him someday.

"Ma'am, what should we cook today?"

I look up from my phone towards the maid who is looking at me with a questionable look. Why she is asking me that?

"I don't know. Why you are asking me? " I shrug my shoulders.

"It's just I run out of ideas now. Moreover, Sir is also out of the city so I think to ask you,  " she replies.

"What about beef steaks. That's my favorite dish too," I exclaim in excitement. This is proof of how much I am starving right now.

"Alright, Ma'am!" She chirps with a smile.

I smile back at her and scroll through my phone casually when a couple of pictures catches my attention. I touch the screen in bewilderment for making the picture larger to get the biggest shock of my life. It's the pictures of me sleeping with my head resting on the book. I pressurize my mind more to comprehend that these are the pictures of today when I was in the library. When and how did I sleep there? And who takes these pictures? I clench my jaw hard in anger when the only possibility comes in my mind.

Shaiq I will kill you.

"Hey, you came?"

I lift my head up to find Armaan standing there with a smile adorning his lips. Like a melting piece of ice, all my anger suddenly fly away. I unclasp my tight fist and nod my head hastily. But what he is doing here so early? Usually, he comes home after the evening.

"Why you are so early today?" I stand up briskly.

"I have nothing to do at the office so I just thought to come back," he replies. I can feel his intonation suddenly gets rough and stern.

"Nothing to do?" I mumble not discerning what he means by this. How come he has nothing to do?

"Yes because..., " he stops as he looks back at me with a frown.

"Forget it, have you had lunch?" He asks.

I shake my head in denial. Now I remember, I am dying of hunger right now.

"Then let's have lunch together," he announces at which I stare perplexed at him.

"Huh?" I ask confusedly.
