Shaiq's POV

I stop the car in front of Zainab's house. It's already getting dark. I can't believe we have been out for a whole day. I divert my gaze back to Zainab. Her eyes are arching down as she is slamming her both hands with each other. If she isn't fidgeting her hands, I may have a false idea that she is sleeping.

"You okay, Zainab?" I softly ask her.

She looks up at me and nods her head frantically.

"Don't engage with anyone in your house and just go to sleep. I will meet you tomorrow, okay?" I advise her.

"And, " I turn her face towards me and wipe the already wet face of her with my hand, "go inside with a smile otherwise your family will think I have made you cry, " I chuckle in the end.

"You can never make me cry, Shaiq," she says with a weary smile.

I smile back at her. How much hurt she is! If only I have any way to get that smile back to her face and erase every sorrow from her life.

"Because you always bring a smile to my face."

I pat the side of her face slowly with my hand.

And I will be doing it always, Zainab. Because you are the light of my life.

"Thanks, Shaiq," it is like a whisper but in this stillness of the surrounding, I can easily hear it.

"Not only for today but for always staying with me. I don't know what will happen to me if you weren't with me today. I may have already died because of that acc..."

"Zainab. Stop already. Do you have an idea what are you saying?" I yell at the top of my lungs.

I leave a deep sigh when I realize I have just yelled at her. I look back at her who is staring at me with teary eyes.

"I am sorry, I shouldn't have yelled at you," I take her hand in mine, "stop being pessimistic, Zainab. You have a long way to go. Sometimes what we want is just not good for us and by testing like this, Allah always knows what is best for us. And you don't have to thank me or whatsoever because I will always be there for you."

"Anyways I want a big tight smile on your face, now at this time," I assert.

"Zaini, smile, " I chuckle as I shake her both shoulders.

Strangely, she let out a small laugh as she hits my arm.

"You can never change. You idiot, you moron. If you call me by this name once more, I'll kill you," she warns me, a smile still plying on her lips.

Thank God.

"Okay I won't, I promise but for this, you have to smile a lot." I ruffle her hair.

She doesn't say anything, just glare at me as she turns her body to the other side.

She is about to open the car door when she stops and turns to me.

"You won't come inside?" She asks.

"It's really late now. I'll come here tomorrow and will take you out. Till then take care," I tell her.

She first hesitantly stares at me but nods her head in acceptance. After that, she gets out of the car. Something buzzes inside me as I see her going; like something is going to happen.

Without giving a second thought, I quickly get off the car.

"Wait Zainab," I call out loud.

She stops where she is and looks back at me with a questionable look.
