You sure this looks okay Jade! Remi it looks fine, all your assets are out on display and I am sure that Lisa will take notice of every inch of them too. That's not why I am wearing the dress! Bullshit! Hey girl watch your mouth! I said to Shai as she came into the room with us. It's the truth, you trying to get noticed and trust that dress will get you noticed she said looking me over. Whatever I said fixing myself as I looked in the mirror. Maybe I was trying to get some attention but I also wasn't trying to look like a hoe either we are going to a church. Alright ladies we need to roll out if we want to get to the church on time. Coming we said grabbing our things and going down stairs. We taking two cars to the wedding, we all can't go in your car dad! No, we're taking the town car. Town car I said looking at him. It was sent to pick us up. By who? We all know who sent it they said going out the house. I locked the door and went to the town car. I mean it made sense for us all to ride in one car instead of taking 2, but I also didn't like the feeling of being bought either. I watched as they all joked as we drove to the church, and they seemed genuinely happy. Of course, when I got out of jail I wouldn't have imagined being where I am at now, living in a nice house, driving a car, whether it's 5 years old or not it's mine, money in the bank, my family happy.

Hey Hey are you ok Dani said rubbing my arm. Yeah, I am fine why? You're crying. Huh I said looking at her. You're crying she said wiping the tears off my face. I am I don't know what came over me I said trying not to draw attention to myself. But it was too late they had all noticed that I was tearing up and now were asking me if I was ok. I am fine yall I promise! We don't have to go Remi; we can go back home. No, we're almost there, please yall I am fine ok. Alright they said giving me a sympathetic look. Look at you, cutie I said taking Ices from Jade. She was so cute in her little dress.

Within 15 minutes we pulled up to the church and were getting out to go in. Yall go ahead and go in Daddy said to the girls leaving me and him in the car. Oluremi are you sure everything is okay with you? I am fine dad I said looking at him. You miss her don't you? I spent so much time thinking about being with her when I got out and I messed it up. She tried to tell me that she wasn't with him, but I couldn't believe it. Remi, he said taking my hand, I never told you this but after your mother left, I went looking for her. You went looking for her? Mhm, I wasn't ready to let go like she was, I wanted to work on it and try for you girls. Did you find her? He nodded a little looking down, she had gone back to the islands with her parents. I begged her to come home. And she told me that she wasn't ready to be tied down to me. And us I said looking at him. No actually she asked me to send yall to the islands with her, but I told her no, if she didn't want me, she damn sure couldn't have my kids. You kept us from her. I was selfish, I thought for sure if I said that, she'd pack her bags and come home. And when she didn't I was like damn she really don't like my ass. It took me years to realize that I was in the wrong and by the time I figured it out, it was too late she was married and pregnant with your brother. You wanted her back even then. Mhm I did, I even apologized sent flowers all of it. You see Remi that dinner we had wasn't the first time I've met your mothers' husband. We've had our encounters before. Yall fought over her? Naw he's too pretty to fight and I am way to dangerous to do that either. We had a mutual understanding that I'd step away and raise you girls.

What do I do about Lisa? It's obvious you love her, tell her that and let the cards fall where they may. He said kissing my forehead. I took what my father said to heart I mean he's never lied to me or Danielle. Yeah, he omitted the truth about why my mother really left us all those years ago, but then again so did she. I owed it to myself to see this through even we don't work out at least I tried.

The church was beautifully decorated and I could see Lisa's subtle touches throughout the church. From the subtle hints of purple in the flowers to the type of music that was being played while we waited for the wedding to start, I could tell she was heavily involved in it. This shit is nice Remi, Shai whispered to me. I know! When you and Lisa get married its gonna be like this? Don't you mean if we get married? No, I mean when you get married, I know yall going through it right now but everything will work out and, in a few years, we'll be waiting in a wedding just like this for you and her to get married. Maybe I don't know though, we had said that we wanted to get married outside, you know with nature around us. Outside in Georgia! Yeah, we'd talked about this place in Augusta or even going down to Florida and getting married on the beach. Now I can get with a beach wedding, get my body right so I can look good my dress too.
