we're back with some angst headcanons

- Florida has a light scar on the left side of his face because of Spain
He doesn't remember how he got it, but he knows Georgia was there when it happened
Georgia hasn't told him what exactly lead to it, or even what Spain did to him
Him and Loui have guessed around a bit though, since Loui knows that right after he got that scar Florida started to live with Georgia, and Spain had left

- Hawai'i use to make flower crowns in the meetings, and Alaska use to sketch whatever he saw next to him
Really they only did it out of boredom at first, since they weren't allowed to speak at the meetings at the time. But it eventually turned into a thing they did for comfort when the older states would yell at each other, to the point where if they were doing their own thing, they could barely even hear the others

- Both tiny Texas and California being shamed by the northern and southern states at the time for being friends, since they were about to kick off the civil war

- Utah cries a lot to Coco about his trauma related to the church, because I bet he's got a bunch
Coco, of course, is always there to comfort him if needed

- Kansas being terrified of Missouri for years because of The Bleeding of Kansas
It doesn't help that he would technically still be a kid at the time of when it happened

- Not fully angst related, but god so many states have daddy/mommy issues (since we don't really know the gender of the other countries except Spain)

like, the original 13 had their trash relationship with England
Florida got left by Spain (and we've all kind of established he wasn't much of a dad to begin with)
Basically all of the Louisiana territory was just sold for a fairly cheap price, same with Alaska
The states that use to be mexico were just taken since they lost the war, also the same case with Hawai'i (who I've just been kind of been thinking has mommy issues)

that's 36 states if I didn't miss any

They need a hug or something-

- Speaking of, Colorado was really the only state that I could think of that's as left by both of his dad's, since he was half French and half Spanish territory

In return I can just see him treating every kid he meets like he would've want his dad's treat him, but gets mad at himself because he thinks he's still a bad example
Utah's kids really like him nonetheless

- You can tell when Washington is about to cry, because he starts to get a lot more breathing tics, and also bangs on his side a bunch

- Florida has a stuffed gator he cuddles with when he's sad, and it was a gift from Loui and Georgia

Some southern states tried to get him to distance himself from the thing using force, which only led to him having a panic attack and Geo yelling at them until they gave it back
