Authors note: I feel like this song is Blaze talking to Ahri in this chapter.

Blaze rushed through the hospital.

They were finally going to let him see her.

It had been almost a week since they found her.

He wasn't allowed in. He could only look through a window, due to how unstable her condition was.

He reached a nurse sitting outside of the ward.

"Mr. Hijiri?"

He nodded.

"Right this way."

She made him wear a mask and spray a decontamination vapor on his clothes. The nurse had to do the same thing.

Then she led him through a bunch of hallways, and finally through a door.

The room was about the size of a baseball dugout at your local park. It was dark, and the only light came from the other room.

A large window sat in front of a bench.

He took a seat and looked through the window.

His heart ached.

She was lying on a bed, surrounded by all kinds of monitors and equipment he couldn't name if he tried.

She had all kinds of tubes coming out of her chest and abdomen, And she was breathing through a ventilator.

The worst of all was the life support machine.

Some doctors said she'd make a full recovery.

Others said there's no way in hell she's gonna survive this.

So far she's followed the track predicted by the latter.

She was dying.

There was still a chance that she could make it though.

She could still recover.

But it was unlikely.

"So has she woken up yet?"

The nurse shook her head. everyone knew that if she was gonna wake up, she'd have done it a while back.

"The doctors think she might be in a coma."

A coma.

Those can last days.

Weeks.

Months.

Years.

Sometimes decades, even.

He couldn't go that long without her.

"She flatlined twice yesterday."

He squeezed his eyes shut.

"The doctors have been discussing pulling the plug."

Blaze let out a sob, burying his face in his hands.

She can't leave him.

Not yet.

He's not ready to say goodbye.

There's still so much he wanted to show her.

He wanted to live the rest of his life with her.

They were supposed to get married someday.

Maybe even have kids of their own.

They were supposed to grow old together.

But now, all of that was being ripped away from him.

She was lying there, desperately fighting for her life.

And there was nothing he could do to help.

The nurse left the room.

Blaze sat there for hours staring at her.

Trying to will her to wake up.

"I'm sorry sir, visitor hours are over."

"Say something, I'm giving up on you

I'll be the one if you want me to

Anywhere I would have followed you

Say something, I'm giving up on you

And I am feeling so small

It was over my head

I know nothing at all

And I will stumble and fall

I'm still learning to love

Just starting to crawl

Say something, I'm giving up on you

I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you

Anywhere I would have followed you

Say something, I'm giving up on you

And I will swallow my pride

You're the one that I love

And I'm saying goodbye

Say something, I'm giving up on you

And I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you

And anywhere I would have followed you

Say something, I'm giving up on you

Say something, I'm giving up on you

Say something..."
