Later that evening...

Killian walked over to the large window in his and Emma's spacious room. He saw the ice queen and her younger sister talking amongst the kingdom's people, laughing and having a good time. Anna's fiance, Kristoff, was currently chasing his reindeer who stole a carrot from a small market. Nobody seemed bothered by the situation, in fact, no one seemed bothered by anything in this kingdom. It was kind of nice being in a well-guarded kingdom with kind people. The captain found himself not stressing over his princess's safety as much and didn't mind leaving her alone in the palace while he checked on the Jolly Roger and his crew. To his surprise he easily trusted Anna and Elsa to look out for Emma while he attended to his own responsibilities and even thought of Kristoff as a new friend, despite how odd he seemed at times.

Killian laughed to himself as he turned around and headed over to his oversized bed where an exhausted princess laid. The captain slowly sat down on the soft mattress, trying not to wake Emma. He let his fingers run through her hair and rub her achy head. He couldn't help but take in her beauty as she slept with her mouth slightly open. He noticed her skin had been paler than usual but immediately knew it was because she hadn't been getting as much sleep as usual. She would always lie awake at night upset with herself over something she failed to accomplish during her lesson with Elsa or spend hours trying to work on simple hand magic she used to do effortlessly.

It hurt him to see her get so upset with herself and it hurt not to be able to help. The captain knew the princess was skilled with magic, he saw it with his own eyes every day on the deck of his ship as they journeyed to Arendelle. She always had her nose in a spellbook or the book Regina gave her for simple hand magic. He felt Elsa was right, she was trying too hard and feared failure too much to properly complete the task. Everyone tries to tell her and deep down Killian thinks Emma knows they're right, but her confidence has plummeted too much to even do a simple spell without failing...

He hoped an evening out at sea would calm Emma and she'd focus on other things rather than magic. It has been nonstop training for her since their arrival and she needed a break. The captain gently placed his hand on the princess's shoulder and shook her in an effort to wake her, "Love, it's time to set sail." He whispered.

The princess didn't open her eyes, but turned to her other side, now facing Killian. He had to admit he felt bad about waking her, she needed the rest, but everyone else had already headed down to the Jolly Roger for their evening out and he couldn't bail on them...

"Swan." He said a little louder, "Darling, it's time to wake up." He encouraged, rubbing her arm.

Emma wrinkled her nose and raised her hand to rub her tired eyes. She didn't want to wake up... reluctantly she opened her eyes to find her handsome pirate smiling at her, "I love waking up to your smile." She said, placing a hand on his cheek.

Killian took her hand in his and placed a soft kiss on it, "Aye, and I love waking up to the sound of your voice."

She couldn't help but blush. He always managed to make her feel like she was something so valuable and amazing. He could easily compliment her all day and she knew it. "Not to be rude, but why did you wake me?" She asked with a sleepy smile.

The captain cleared his throat, "We must head down to the Jolly Roger now, everyone is waiting to set sail."

The princess put a pillow over her head and groaned, "Couldn't you depart without me?" She whined, removing the pillow, "I wanted to read a book on magic Anna found in the library."

"Swan..." Killian said in a deep tone, "You need to have some fun for a change. All you've been doing is magic and it's only causing you to not properly care for yourself."
