"Just how exactly do you plan on finding him, then?" Maria walked alongside Coulson, a couple other Shield agents behind them in case things got messy. Phil looked down at his watch, wanting to be careful on how long this took.

"I have my methods. You're gonna help me." Coulson answered as they entered into the centre of town. It was a four way intersection, meaning lord of people. Coulson motioned for Maria to step in front of him once they reached the corner of the path.

A little curious on just how Coulson was planning on finding Erebus, she moved ahead, standing still.

"Okay, don't freakout." He warned her, placing a hand on his gun holster and lifting it up. He fired two shots into the sky, sending the nearby civilians into a panic. Maria looked over her shoulder, staring at Phil like he was insane.

"Hey, play the part." He whispered, putting the gun to her head like it was a hostage situation.

"Are you trying to attract the cops?" Maria whispered harshly, her eyes narrowing as she scanned the crowds of people sprinting in the opposite direction. A few groups stayed, keeping their distance and watching.

"Fury already alerted the police department and told them to ignore any calls from this part of town." Coulson said under his breath, keeping a stern expression as he also looked around.

"Oh, so you told Fury the plan, but not me?" Maria scowled. A few spectators had their phones held up, recording and streaming the scene. Good. Just like they needed.

"Everyone, back off. I swear to God, I will shoot the woman." Coulson threatened in a serious tone. He knew how to play his roles properly, that was for sure. The people who were still hanging around took a few steps back, wary not to make any sudden movements.

Seconds past, then minutes... It felt like the Shield agents were just stood for hours, when in reality it was only five minutes or so. In that short time frame, more people and pooled together to watch what was happening.

"Erm... how long is this gonna take? That gun kind of hurts when you have it pressed into my temple." Maria questioned, already sick of the staring eyes and the stiffness of her legs.

"As long as it takes for our semi-criminal, semi-hero to show up." Coulson sighed, feeling like the whole situation was dragging on. If things didn't speed up, the civilians would start to get confused.

"Semi-criminal?" A voice echoed around the two, coming from every direction and making both their heads spin. The sound of distant humming reached their ears, a resonating symphony of fear. It was enough to make Coulson's heart rate speed up, though mostly from nervousness.

"Thinking about it. I suppose so. Though, I don't mind." A dark, unmoving figure rested in front of them, an animated shadow that showed no sign of life other than its standing position.

"Even just a small tilt towards the darkness... It means you're crossing into my territory. And I kill anyone in my territory, because I can." (Y/N) stood directly behind Phil, his words mere whispers into his ear. The figure in front of them was gone, and now it was just the real deal.

Coulson released Maria, putting the pistol in its holster as the woman moved forward, attempting to stretch her legs. Coulson turned around to face (Y/N), coming face to face with bright E/C eyes and a metallic face mask.

"(Y/N) (L/N). Erebus. I'm agent Phil Coulson of Shield, I'm here to-" Coulson barely managed to introduce himself before a shadow wrapped around his neck, constricting his air flow and lifting him into the air.

"Less talking, more dying, Phil." (Y/N) growled, his eyes lighting up pitch black in a show of inhuman power. Holding out his right hand, dark mist enveloped it before solidifying in his grip. An obsidian knife laid between his fingers, inching forwards in a slow motion.
