2nd Person POV

Steve groaned as he tried to move away the rubble that was weighing the three of you down. You quickly did that for him by swiping your and sending the stone and concrete flying in the other direction.

Natasha was unconscious, so while Steve pushed more debris out of the way, you crouched down and picked her up bridal style. The surrounding fire illuminated your face as you followed behind Steve when he got out.

"Steve, we can't stay here. They're coming." You told him. The faint sound of engines in the distance was something you could easily pick up on. You weren't dying today, and especially not to the Russians. Not after the joke you made two years prior.

"This way. I know a place we can go." Steve motioned for you to follow as he ran to the left. It was kinda difficult while lugging around a body, but you made it work. The two of you slipped out of the area, hopefully undetected. Now you just had to hope wherever Steve was taking you wouldn't end with them finding you again.

"So remind me again who this guy is." You wiped your hand over your cheek again. There had originally been a cut there from a piece of random debris, but after the journey it had closed up.

Steve stepped forward and knocked on this mystery man's door, stepping back so he was between you and Natasha, who had woken up again.

"A friend." Steve replied. You didn't even have the energy to say anything witty right now. You were all pretty much drained after the shit you'd been through.

There was a short wait before a man lifted the blinds and slid open the door, looking at Steve curiously.

"Hey, man." He said.

"I'm sorry about this. We need a place to lay low." Steve immediately apologised. You could get behind that. After all, this guy was probably living a chill normal life without Shield fugitives in his home.

"Everyone we know is trying to kill us, and it's not fun." You said with a short cough into your hand. The guy paused, looking between the three of you. At first you thought he was about to say no.

"Not everyone." He stepped back so you could all enter. Huh, he was either really nice or really stupid to let you in if Shield- or Hydra were after you. Natasha entered first, then you, then Steve.

You splashed your face with cold water in an attempt to rid yourself of your tiredness. It wasn't like it mattered, though. You'd be back to normal once you got back into action.

As you left the bathroom, Steve entered. Natasha sat on the bed, messing with her hair. There was something up with her. You could tell by the way she was acting and how she was quiet on the way here.

"You okay?" You asked. She gave an unconvincing 'yes' as you sat down on the bed next to her. If the chance of world domination wasn't classified as an Avengers level threat, and wasn't enough to get Thor down here to help you all, you'd be damned.

You looked over at Natasha again, seeing her with a depressed look on her face. Were you supposed to call someone out when they lied about being okay? You'd rather leave them to their demons, but since you were gonna be stuck with Nat for a while, you decided against that.

"What's up with you? You're never this quiet." You tapped her arm so she would look at you. Nat froze for a few seconds as if thinking out what she was going to say.

"When I first joined Shield I thought I was going straight. But I guess I just traded in the KGB for Hydra." She sighed and her eyes dropped down, staring at her feet. "I thought I knew whose lies I was telling, but I guess I can't tell the difference anymore."
