The boy had awoken just like he did every morning. A small smile reaching across his lips as he saw the sunlight beaming through the window. In his first year, he was offered the window but declined it for two reasons. His lycanthropy. And because he simply knew he wouldn't want to be awoken almost every beautiful day because of the shining sun.

But just like every other day, Remus woke up rather early. Earlier than the boys.

Collecting a towel and his other bits and pieces, he took a shower. Not noticing the missing boy in the dorm.

But when he returned that's when he noticed. Usually when he returned he'd wake the boys up. But to see the missing boy, caused him to quickly wake up James. Almost shoving him off the bed in the process. "What?"

"Sirius!" He whispered trying to not wake Peter.

"And?"

"He's gone!" The words caused James too immediately spring from his cozy blankets before looking towards the empty bed. Usually, he'd be the last woken up, but to see the bed completely empty caused them to begin to whisper his name around the room.

"Was he in the bathroom?"

"I just got out!" Remus said quickly before going to wake Peter up. Who just rolled over and pulled the blankets over his head. mumbling incomprehensible words. But Remus rolled his eyes before throwing the blankets of his best mate who groaned. "Sirius is missing, you moron!"

This caused Peter to sluggishly flip himself over to point towards the bed, only to see it empty. "He's probably in the Great Hall. He was complaining about how excited he was for today."

"He isn't in the common room!" James said rushing in with his school shirt half done, tie hanging around his neck in a big knot (which was wrong, and messy), hair messier than usual and his eyes still barely open due to having been just woken up.

"Get up, Wormtail. We're going on a mission." Remus said dragging the boy out of bed before throwing his clothes at him. "I'll ask if August has seen him." Remus said before stepping out of the room.

"She could be sitting in the Common Room, Lils." Alice said adjusting her tie before throwing Marlene some socks.

"She left in the night though." Marlene said. The two looked at her confused. "I had a bad dream. Woke up and she was gone."

"And you didn't tell us!?" Lily said quickly before fixing her hair. "I'll be back."

As Lily went into the Common Room, she looked over the ledge and saw everybody else except the girl she was searching for. "Hey, have you seen August?" The familiar voice asked the red-head.

"Just so happens to be who I'm looking for." Lily said to the boy. "She apparently left in the middle of the night. Don't know where. She hasn't come back." Lily said with a small knot in her brows.

"Odd." Remus said knowing he had a faint idea where. "Well, if you also see Sirius let us know, please."

"Same for August." Lily said softly before Remus walked back to the boys dorm. Taking one last glance before walking towards the girls dorms. Nibbling on her bottom lip nervously.

August woke up to the sounds of many knocks and thuds at the doors. She somewhat panicked but calmed when she saw the room she was in. But as her mind recollected the events of last night, she snapped her head to the boy who's lap she was just in.

He looked peaceful as he slept, but August quickly shook him aggressively. "Bloody hell- Oh, good morning."

"You need to hide." She said quickly to him.

He seemed to catch onto the door and looked at her confused but she took a deep breath, "If they know you're in here, they'll think something happened between us! Something completely different to what did happen!"

The two quickly panicked in where to put him, but August pointed her wand to the cupboard. The closet opening and she shoved him in there before slamming the door shut and walking towards the doors. "You guys woke me up." She grumbled rubbing her eyes. Trying her best to seem tired and just woken up.

"Have you seen Sirius?!" The three blurted and she couldn't help but squint her eyes in shock.

"No. Why?" She asked them before yawning.

"Because he wasn't in the dorm when we woke up, but was when we went to sleep." Peter explained and she couldn't help but shrug slightly.

"I haven't seen him since dinner." She muttered, "What time is it?"

"Ten minutes till breakfast." Remus replied and August nodded.

"I'll let you's know if  I see him." She said with a small smile before closing the door, but James stopped her.

"Where's your robes?" He asked her but she only looked at him sheepishly.

The three glanced at one another before rushing into the room to see it all the same except for the now covered table and couch with her dressing robe on it. "I couldn't sleep last night so I came here. No one was in the common room, and I had a tunnel I came in."

"Oh." They muttered before turning.

"Brush your teeth, Gaunt." James chuckled causing August to roll her eyes before shoving him out the door and close the door slightly. The room becoming silent to the three Marauders. August used her wand to open the door of the cupboard and grab a pen before leaning against the door again.

The three were whispering to one another before nodding and turning away. Reassurance washed over her and she turned to see a tired Sirius. "You can't tell them you were here last night." She said quickly. The boy nodding before grabbing his wand. "I'll see you in class, alright?"

"Yeah." He muttered before going towards the door. Pausing last minute.

August didn't notice this as she tried to clean the couch up and the coffee table but noticed he stood at the door. "Sirius?" She said softly. The boy quickly turned before hugging her.

She was caught off guard, but slowly patted his back. Not being given hugs often causes you to act like that sometimes. "Thank you." He whispered.

"You're welcome?"

He quickly left after that. Giving her no explanation as to what had happened. But August only shrugged before quickly getting her things and exiting the room. Going towards the painting that led her to the mirror near the common room.

She knew she was in for a troubled and questioned day.
