Warnings: Blood, Injury, Denial

Relationship: Grian/Sam

~***~

Grian went to work one morning while rubbing his head, he knew his team was looking at him, but he ignored them. He went straight to his office and started doing paperwork.

"Guys... Is Grian okay?" Ren asked the team, "He seems a little.. I don't know, spaced out?"

"There's a rumour that he's being assaulted in his home." Scar whispered, "Let's go talk to him, no harm."

Ren agreed and the two walked up to Grian's office, "Hey buddy..."

Grian looked up, "What's up guys?"

Scar's eyes widened at how hoarse Grian's voice sounded, "Whoa, are you feeling okay? You sound very ill."

"'m fine." Grian mumbled, "Just... Catching a cold. That's all."

The next day, Grian came back with a cut on his neck. The day after, a black eye. On that day, Ren and Scar both followed Grian home and listened out for anything out of the ordinary.

"Maybe you should lay off the Vodka, Sam. You're-"

"I'M WHAT?! A MANIAC? VIOLENT? DEADLY?"

"Sam, please! Just, I'm trying to do something that'll keep me from getting hurt~"

The two males heard crashes and glass breaking in the home and called for cops.

~!!!~

The moment Sam broke a vase over Grian's head was the moment Grian tried fighting back. Grian managed to squirm away with his head bleeding from a gash of the vase hitting him, he managed to grab Sam's nearby gun and aimed it at him.

"Sam, don't move. I will shoot you."

"DO IT!"

Sam took another step towards Grian, Grian pulled the trigger but the firearm didn't shoot anything, "Empty... Who keeps an empty gun?!"

Sam shoved Grian against the wall with his hand against his neck, "Don't try and fight back against me again."

At that moment the door busted open and Sam got shot. Grian gasped for air once his airways were clear to do so.

"Cap, are you okay?" "Grian?!" "Hey, Grian, look at us."

The multiple calls had him knowing that his team came to help him and Grian only nodded his head, "I'm okay... I'll be fine."

The team helped him to his feet and brought him to the back of their ambulance.

"Grian, why didn't you tell us?" Xisuma asked the moment he got to his brother, "We could have helped you."

"Please, most domestic abuse calls don't get attention. How the hell was I supposed to know if people would actually come?" Grian said clearly annoyed, "Besides, he had my uniform illegally bugged. He'd have known either way."

"Grian, he could have killed you." Xisuma scolded, "Your brother is a COP! I could've gotten you protection whether it was real or not. You need to remember that I was there when you met Sam, I could tell he was bad news and you didn't listen to me."

"X, I'm sorry! Okay!? You were right, I was wrong, just like usual. I don't need the lecture."

"Yeah, for once you're right, Grian." Scar scolded next, "You need a hospital."

"Fine." Grian inaudibly said, "Just.. No more lectures, and stop yelling."

"I'll meet you guys there. Grian, you're spending the night at my house and taking time off work."
