~***~

Sam watched as Grian tried crawling away from him but he was barely able to move his arms.

"There's no use in trying to crawl away, Gree-on." Sam cooed, pulling the boy up by his hair, "That weakness command is no joke. It's weakness ten. You can't move anywhere without me noticing."

"Sam... Please..." Grian begged with tears in his eyes, "Let me go."

"Mmmm...." He hummed, "No." He slammed Grian against the pillar, "You'll stay there until I'm done with you. But... Since you seem very restless, you've given me no choice." He tied Grian's arms tightly behind the pillar then tied something else around his neck, "You can't fight anything I give you."

"S-Sam-"

"Shh, shh, shh..." He put two fingers under the boy's chin to force him to look at him in the eyes, "I'm gonna get your first crystal... And we're gonna have a bit of fun, tiny Watcher."

Sam let Grian's head fall, Grian moved his fingers enough to try and pick at the ropes, but with the weakness potion, he couldn't pick at them enough to actually loosen them. When Sam returned he sat a box down beside him. He first pulled out a milk bottle and forced Grian to drink it.

"There, now you won't die." He pulled out a green crystal and attacked it to the thin rope around it. The effect was immediate. Grian's body was encased in green waves as they invaded their way through Grian's veins.

Over his screams, Grian faintly heard the sing songy tone saying, 'Don't fight it.' And after a moment the pain faded away.

Grian panted as Sam removed the crystal. As he started t cry once more, he begged for Sam to stop.

"That was only one crystal, Gree-on. Can't take anymore already?"

"Sam, please, you'll kill me!"

Sam shrugged and attached a red crystal, then blue, finally a black crystal which stayed around Grian's neck after attaching to his heart. Grian passed out from exhaustion.

It was just about four hours before Grian was awake and completely under Sam's control. Soon after Xisuma and his hermits found them.

Xisuma had fallen through the ceiling and threatened Sam at the tip of his trident, "Where's Grian."

Sam pushed away the admin's trident, "The little boy? Oh who cares."

Xisuma shoved the trident closer to his throat, "TELL ME WHERE HE IS OR PERISH!"

Sam smiled, "Oh puppet! Show our friends how we work here!"

Grian then appeared out of nowhere and kicked Xisuma in the chest, as he landed beside Sam, his eyes were pure black as he stared at Xisuma.

"Gri?" Xisuma said breathlessly, "What did you do to him?!"

"Sometimes the geodes can come in handy. Pet... Kill him."

Grian's reaction was immediate. He teleported to Xisuma's side and he and the person he viewed as his father fought until Grian was manhandled by Xisuma.

Grian's body engulfed in flames, but Xisuma refused to let go.

"Grian, come back to me." He spoke softly into the smaller man's ear, "You're not his toy or soldier... You're my son, I need you to come back to me."

Grian jerked in the man's grasp, but Xisuma kept him from moving.

"Hey, remember the time when you jumped off a tree and sprained your wing? I helped heal and bandage your wounds and helped you feel safe. Remember the good times, Gri. Come back to me."

Grian's flames died down when his eye colours started fading to blue. The crystal across Grian's neck shattered into pieces and he fell against Xisuma's chest.

"I got you buddy." Xisuma whispered, hugging the blonde, "I got you, you're okay."

"Suma...." Grian sobbed, "I'm sorry...."

"It's okay. Don't worry about it."

"MY PET!"

Grian looked at Sam and threw fire at him while Xisuma banished him to the void. A moment of silence broke through the the hermits. Grian took a deep breath before looking back at Xisuma.

"I'm sorry..."

Xisuma put his hands on Grian's shoulders, "Don't be. That wasn't you, those crystals effect Watchers negatively. Your brain shuts down and all you do is follow the dark crystal. It wasn't you."

"But I hurt you-"

"Grian, that doesn't matter right now!"

"It matters to me!" Grian shouted with his voice breaking, "I-It matters to me. You're my father, X... The last thing I want is you to be hurt because of me."

Xisuma looked into Grian's tear filled eyes, then hugged him, halting their conversation entirely, "We'll talk about it later. Okay?"

"Okay..." He heard Grian mumble. He then picked Grian up and followed two other hermits outside, allowing Grian to fall asleep in his arms.
