Summary: After having a bad day, Fred snaps at his girlfriend, not knowing the real effect on her.
Warning/s: mentions of divorce
I walked back to the common room from the library. I saw my boyfriend, Fred, sitting on the couch by the fireplace with his head in his hands. I plopped down next to him, "Hey love, is everything alright?"
He hummed, avoiding my gaze.
I wrapped my arms around him, leaning a head on his shoulder, "Freddie, I know you're lying. We can talk about it if you want."
Fred shook his head, giving a small sigh and muttering, "I'm fine."
I ran a hand through his hair, "You don't have to talk about it. If you just want to cuddle, then it's fine. If you want me to go deal with them, I'd be more than happy to."
"For Godric's sake!" He suddenly snapped, "I know you're trying to help, but you're being so annoying! Will you please just stop being talkative and clingy even just for one minute!"
I gaped at him, stunned at his sudden outburst, "S-sorry, if it bothers you that much. I'll stop."
My boyfriend was silent for a moment, "Look, honey-"
I stood up, "It's okay Freddie. I think I'm just gonna go to bed. It's getting pretty late, you should too."
(Fred's POV)
I sighed, running a hand through my hair, "I just made things worse."I walked up to my dorm, falling face-first onto my bed.
"What happened?" George asked with a teasing tone, "Your day got any worse?"
"A whole lot worse." I answered.
"Why? What happened?" Lee asked, sitting up on his bed.
"I might've snapped at Y/N." I explained, flinching at the thought, "And I might've yelled at her."
"Let's hope she didn't file for a divorce yet." Lee said with a small chuckle.
I threw a pillow at him as he laughed, "It's not funny!"
"Don't worry about it, Freddie." George said, "I'm sure that she'll understand."
I sighed, "I hope that you're right this time."
"Hey! I'm always right!"

Waiting for her to come down to the common room has never felt so long.I stood by the staircase, a bouquet of her favorite flowers and a box of her favorite sweets in hand.
According to Angelina, she wasn't acting strangely nor did she seem mad. That was enough to ease my thoughts... a little.
I then saw her walking down the stairs."Hey sweetheart!" I said, handing her the flowers and the sweets, "Look, I shouldn't have yelled at you last night. You were trying your best to make me feel better and I appreciate that. So, having a bad day isn't a reason to snap at you. I'm terribly sorry and I promise that I will make it up to you."
She gave a small smile, kissing my cheek, "It's okay Freddie. I understand, you don't need to apologize."
"Really?" I asked.
She nodded, "You were having a bad day. Anyone would've snapped."
We held hands on the way to the Great Hall, but I could sense that something was wrong.
"Is she still mad at you?" George asked as he noticed the uneasy look on my face.
I shook my head, "She isn't. I just have a bad feeling that there's something wrong."
Lee raised a brow, "Why?"I shrugged, "She just kissed me on the cheek. She would've usually pulled me into a hug."
—
The four of us were gathered around the common room fire, exchanging stories from our day.Y/N sat next to me on the loveseat while Lee and George sat on the couch right across us.
But, my girlfriend was being awfully and strangely quiet. So, while Lee was giving a very detailed story about his latest date, I leaned down and whispered, "Are you okay sweetheart? You seem unusually quiet."
She hummed, "I'm doing fine."
I nodded, not quite satisfied with her answer as I pressed a kiss to her temple and draped an arm around her shoulder, "If you need me to take care of someone, just let me know."
"Is everything alright with your girlfriend, Freddie?" Lee asked as we trudged up the stairs to our dorm.
"She's been acting strangely lately." George said.
I tucked my hands in my pockets, "She's not as talkative and clingy as she used to be. And to be completely honest, I miss it."
(Reader's POV)
I was walking to the courtyard when I was suddenly pulled into a broom closet.I looked up and saw that my captor had, in fact, been my boyfriend.
"What're we doing here?" I asked.
"Darling." He said, moving a stray hair away from my face, "I know, there's something wrong. You haven't been as talkative and clingy as before. I miss it so much baby girl."
"Really?" I said in disbelief, "I thought you find it annoying? Because it's okay if it annoys you. I don't ever want you to find me annoying."
He cupped my cheek with his hand, causing me to melt in his touch, "I don't find it annoying. I find it absolutely adorable. And you will never ever be annoying to me."
"Promise?" I asked.
He smiled, leaning forward and pressing our lips together, "Promise."
