You woke up because the sunshine hit your face. You squinted and the moment you opened your eyes, a teribble headache came pounding one side of your head. You closed your eyes back and massaged one of your temple to soothe the pain, but it didn't help. You turned to put some pressure in between your left thumb and point finger and massaged there for awhile. It helped a bit and lessen the headache, but not much. Swearing inside, you knew well the reason for the damn migraine. It was your own doing, anyway.

You remembered you stole one of your boyfriend's hamper that he got for Christmas and stashed it in your desk. You both had the same bad habit of skipping meals when work got overwhelming. But he chose wiser, picking protein bars or granola to stuff his stomach, while you resorted to chocolate bars and other snacks. You remembered when he scored the deal with Snickers, you were the one that got excited. He got a lifetime supply but it would only last four, or five months top on you. You stole most of them, well, before he hid them anyway. You stashed most of them on your desk, within your arm reach so when work started to get demanding, you reached one to fill your stomach until you could properly sit down and ate a proper meal. You promised yourself to limit the amount of the chocolate that you consumed, but holidays meant more workload. Some of your colleagues decided to take a leave. Though they took it in turn, being the only foreigner and didn't have the plan to take any leave, you were left to pick up their workload. Both the outpatient duty and the surgeries. That was not including the on-call schedule. Being the only single consultant on the board, you got more on call duties than the rest. And that clearly shown in your snack stash. It diminished quicker than you intended to. And now, you were suffering the result. You knew damn well that you couldn't eat them too much. One of your migraine trigger was chocolate, so you were supposed to limit it but you remembered reaching them in between your break time more times that you could remember.

You were still massaging the pressure point on your hand when your phone alarm went off. The loud voice brought back the pounding headache. You were grabbing the nightstand to find your phone to turn off the alarm, but your migraine prevented you from operating normally. Instead of grabbing it with your hand, it slipped and fell on the floor instead. You groaned and started to get annoyed. You were just about to jump out of bed when you find your boyfriend came into the room. Well, you guessed he saw the pain in your face as he quickly walked over to your bedside, picking up your phone and turned off the alarm before putting it back on the nightstand. He sat by the edge, studying your face with worry all over his face. You covered your eyes with your other arm as the pain started to get unbearable.

"Hey.. Are you okay?" he asked, concern in his voice. This was probably the second or the third time he saw you in pain.

"No. I got migraine," you knew well that it was better to come up clean rather than trying to fool him. The moment you admitted the problem, you heard him cursing under his breath. You've imagined him scolding you from eating chocolate too much so you braced yourself to hear it, but there was nothing.

"Do you still have your medicine?" you found him asking instead. You nodded lightly and was about to sit up but he prevented you. "No, just keep lying down, I'll get it for you. Just tell me where is it and I'll get it. Do you want me to call the hospital for you?" You told him where you kept the medicine but refused to call the hospital.

"It will go away. I need to go. I had to cover another doctor's shift," you argued and when you opened your eyes, Jackson has left the room to get the medicine. When he was back in the room, with a glass in one hand and your medicine in the other hand, you swore if looks could kill, his would kill you.

"Say that again?" he threatened you. You knew the reason why he was angry. You knew what happened when he first saw you sick back then. You took a big breath and decided to give in this time. You promised him that you would do things differently this time.

"Okay. Please call them. I'm calling in sick today," you received the glass and the medicine gratefully and took it immediately. You saw him giving you a tight smile before reaching for your phone to call the hospital. You heard him call your office and apologized for the bad news, but he made sure that they understood that you were in condition to go to work, let alone did surgeries. You lay back down after handed back the glass to Jackson.

"Migraine, huh?" he started to ask and you nodded again, bracing for the impending scolding. "Too much chocolate?" he suspected and you didn't need to answer it for him. He knew half of his hampers were missing and with just the two of you in the apartment, he knew you were the culprit. He sighed," Okay young lady, you know the drill. Just stay here, I'll bring you your breakfast, and you have to eat it. Then you will eat a proper meal not just today, but for the rest of the holiday. I'm confiscating your treats. I'll even ask anyone in the hospital to clear your desk," he stated and you got no choice but to obey him.

The rest of the day went as if it was your holiday. After getting a breakfast in bed, he prepared the warm bath for you, and even massaged your head and shoulder when you soaked in the tub. Then he cooked you lunch and dinner. For the first time you were grateful he took the day off to take care of you.

"Wait, are you okay with skipping work? I thought you had to record some stuff with Jinyoung?"

"I am my own boss, and Jinyoung knew the reason, so he's okay with it. Has your migraine gone yet?" he asked while diving in his plate as well.

"Yeah. It was gone an hour after I took the medicine, but you forced me to take a nap so I had no choice but back to bed," you grunted. Today was probably the day you had the longest sleep in months.

"Well, someone has to force you. Or you'd probably go back to the hospital after the migraine was gone. Anyway, I'd be dropping your lunch at the hospital starting tomorrow. And dinner if you couldn't get back home for dinner. And no, you're not getting out of it," he stated when you tried to let out a protest. He cleaned up the dishes, completely forbid you from doing anything that day and then ushered you back to your room. He ended the day, tucking you in bed with him tagging along behind you.

"Thank you," you whispered when you were finally in his embrace.

"My pleasure," he kissed your temple. "I'm the one that should thank you for giving me the chance to take care of you. But that doesn't mean that I'm hoping that you got sick so I can take care of you. I just wish you give me more chance to do so even when you're not sick as well. So, let's start from the meal, okay? You can't rely on those chocolate bars when you didn't have the time to eat," he finally scold you at the end and you couldn't help but laughed. He pulled up your chin so he could look at your face. "Hey, I'm being serious here," he seemed annoyed when you laughed at his scolding.

"Sorry, I know. I was bracing myself this morning for your scolding but it never came. But apparently you waited until I got better before scolding me at last. So yeah, I deserve it, thanks for the reminder."

"Well, I won't be scolding you if you listened to me in the first place," he grunted and you couldn't help but to chuckle at his pout before giving him a peck on his lips.

"What's that for?" he was genuinely surprised at your action.

"For taking care of me today. It feels more like holiday rather than a sick day," you smiled and he returned it, pulling you closer for a tight hug.

"Anything for my princess," he said from the top of your head, "Now sleep. I bet your shift would be hell for the next two days, so better clock in more sleeps now," he kissed your forehead, sending you to slumber as you smiled into his chest.
