Chapter 22: Nothing is a coincidence

Mountain House, June 2065

'Minji?! What happened?! Are you okay?!' Jiyoung jumped on the bed, picking up the call from Minji.

'Oh? Did we wake you up dad?' Minji said with a sorry tone.

'It's midnight. Yes you did... Jiyoung sighed. 'How are you?'

'Tired... we all are... but fine. The situation for now got slightly better... I will put you on the speaker okay?'

'Mhm...' the whole squad of Red Alert greeted Jiyoung.

'Sorry, dad... We are curious...' Hoseok apologized.

'We tried to call Siyeon and Bora first but they are not picking up... these bishes...' Minji gritted her teeth. 'I will break their bones when I come back...'

'I don't have the strength to scold you...' Jiyoung said tiredly.

'So? How are they?' Jin asked.

Jiyoung got up off the bed and went to the window to not wake Hwasa while talking. He started to talk about all the kids and their powers. He described Yoohyeon and Dami, Yeonjun and Soobin and Minho and Han... But he stopped when he reached Tae and Kook.

'Guys... I honestly... I don't know what to think...' he said. 'I don't know how to help them... For a moment I felt as if they knew and understood more than me...'

'Is there power connected to nature? We once saw a glimpse of it...' Namjoon asked.

'Connected to nature? By all means... yes. But that is a huge understatement too...'

'Don't beat around the bush! What's their power?' Minji scolded her father.

'Water...'

'Oh? That's...'

'Earth... Fire... Air.' Dragon continued.

'Four elements?! Like... all four!? How?!' Hoseok asked.

'We knew they would be extraordinary...' Namjoon let out a long breath to calm himself down. 

'Extraordinary?' Jiyoung snorted. 'Does the fifth element still count as JUST extraordinary?'

'Fifth element? What's that?' Hoseok asked.

'Their fifth power... They said they can't explain what it does. Just said it can do everything...'

'M-maybe they don't understand it?' Jin suggested hesitantly.

'Ooooh, believe me... they do! They just don't know how to explain it...' Dragon said ironically.

'Or they don't want to...' Namjoon said deep in his thoughts.

'Joon... they are not like that. They are our kind kids...' Hoseok disagreed.

'No... I think Namjoon is right...' Jiyoung said. 'Every couple of soulmates has something that only they can share. If they can't explain it... they will show it to us sooner or later. But I don't have any idea how to train them...'

'Normally.' Jin said fastly. 'Taehyung will instantly notice if you treat them differently...'

'And if it affects Kookie in any way... he will go into protective, distrustful mode that it will be hard for you to turn off.' Minji agreed.

'And Jungkookie will be affected and anxious, feeling that you are weirded out by their powers...' Hoseok added.

'You will do your best not doing anything extra...' Namjoon agreed.

'You all really know how to deal with them...' Jiyoung sighed.

'We have 15 years of practice...' Jin said calmingly.
