I slowly made my way to the throne room. Though I entered through the side this time. Atem seemed to be speaking to someone when I entered. I quietly stood behind the wall, when his eyes landed on me.
I froze in place feeling like I just interrupted something important. The King's vilet eyes land on me for a moment, seeing me.
"You may leave now." He held a hand out, sending off whoever he was talking to. His attention was now on me.
"Ah, what nice timing. Hello there." He greeted me. He held a gentle hand out in my direction calling me to his side.
I swallowed nervously and stepped out from behind a wall. I walked over and quietly whispered hello to him. Then I froze once again feeling the eyes of the whole royal court looking at me.
'Ugh...I hate this feeling. They're watching me...'
Atem gently placed a hand on my shoulder and pulled me next to his throne, To stand next to him as he spoke. I averted my eyes a bit as he began a small speech to a couple of people. Even Mahad was here. I knew he could sense my discomfort a bit. Though I wasn't sure what Atem thought.
Atem started speaking in English for my sake. Though did I really want to hear this? I was already utterly frightened being up here.
"Here is ____. One of my newest royal court members. She is a great friend to me. I am talking about this because. The day of the attack, yesterday. She blocked a shot for me, from a man whose eyes burned to kill me. She bravely shot an arrow, and now has her hands stained with blood because of her brave actions. I know she isn't one to ver do anything with violence, but I am extremely grateful for her. I may not be alive now if she did not do this."
Atem glanced at me with a soft smile. "Thank you ____."
I heard a couple of people begin to clap for me, cheering in Egyptian. I see Mahad lightly smiling as well. "W-what are they saying..?"
"They are happy for you, and so am I." Atem whispered.
"Now, since that has happened I have placed a reward down for ___'s brave actions."
'Here we go again....' I sighed. Everyone patiently listened.
"Will you join me on the throne? I wish to treat you to the finest things I can offer."
Whisperers began to start among the people. "What.!?" I heard one of them gasp.
Instantly I began to shutter. A couple of villagers overheard tis and were not happy, even a few guards shake their head. They loved Atem, but not...me in that way."
"She is just a court member! not your lover or Queen. She can't just!'
"She may have helped you which we are happy for, but she c-can't just." They started saying in Egyptian. I may not have understood them, but by their tone of voice, they were not happy. I began to flinch.
