I have a big love for anything Ancient Egyptian themed.
This book will have a lot of Ancient Egyptian themes such as Anubis in it, horses and slice-of-life living.
Living in the neighborhood of Yugi, Yusei and Diva. I searched for my missing friend...
We only just arrived back at the palace. It was dark already. Mahad took the horses home. "Quitely retire for the night, everyone besides the night guards is sleeping now, so sh," Mahad whispered, as he held a finger up to his lips.
We nod and quietly walk back toward our rooms.
" Goodnight guys." Diva smiled and waved to us, as he stood at the door to his room. "Until next time friend." I gave him a small hug. Diva went inside. since he was gone now we continued on toward our rooms.
I was next I began to turn the corner and was about to go to my room when Atem's voice spoke to me.
"Are you, sure you will be fine?" He asked. 'EEp..!' It was as if his voice was piercing my soul. I hated the feeling of guilt, I knew he was only being nice.
He probably thought I'd be shaken up to sleep. " Yes." I partly lied. I had no idea. I wanted to wash the filth off me too and sleep. I didn't want to be a bother to him so I assumed it was best to stay in my own room.
He looked at me a little longer, before giving in. "Very well, sleep well. Tonight will be cooler, better for sleeping."
"Cool..! well later." I quickly went inside my room. Leaving a puzzled Atem standing there alone in the halls. He let out a sigh and looked down. 'Ha....Yugi, help?? I can't read her mind.' He shuffled quietly down to his room, which was not too far away.
( A bit of Atem's background story)
When Atem left years ago, he felt awful for leaving the rest of us behind. It tore him up inside, but sure he was happy. Still, he had this missing gap inside him. Before he left after the duel before him and Yugi. He requested Yugi to please take care of _____. He knew it would cause hurt. He knew she would struggle for a while. Yugi was the one other person who understood ____ the best.
When Atem left. He spent mindless hours experimenting with his magician's trying to figure some formula out to return. There were times the Pharaoh was absolutely frustrated, annoyed, and felt helpless.
Until one day. His magician Mahad came busting through the doors.
"My King!"
Atem nearly dropped his food, at the sudden burst of the panicked friend. "Y-yes Mahad, what is it?"
Mahad slammed a couple of scrolls down on the table. "I FOUND something!!"
"What is that?" Blinked the Pharaoh, as he looked down at the paper.
"I was able to make a small vision portal in the magic room. Where you can at least see ____ and her friends. However, you can not communicate with her."
"OH my!! that sounds great! So we can see how she is doing!?"
"Yes." Mahad nods seeing the overly excited Pharaoh.
"Show me, show me everything!"
"Come with me."
(Couple of days later)
Atem was currently checking up on his friend, he sat on a chair in the magic room by the little vision portal. 'So...she works for Kaiba now...' He thought, letting out a sigh. He was happy that she had a job, but he worried that Kaiba's horrible ego would cause issues.
Atem saw quite a bit of ___'s life when she worked for Kaiba and hung out with her friends. The bad and good. There were times he wished he could yell at Kaiba for being an idiot. He even saw the day the package sent by Yugi arrived at her doorstep.
Atem couldn't help but smile. it was the dark magician card. 'Excellent choice Yugi, I'm sure she will love it.'For he knew how much I loved his spellcasters. That was only the beginning of a possible good future.
( Atem's POV)
'That was the card that started it all. I'm so proud..of her.' Atem slumped down on the chair in his room, with water and bandages. In silence, Atem began to dress his own wounds. His mind wandered to his friends today that have also sustained some injury.
He never asked for help with his wounds, never. He usually did them himself, except a couple of recent times, she was around.
"Tch...." He hissed at the scrape on his arm, as he cleaned it. 'Maybe it was for the best, that she can't see me like this...' His eyes watered a bit from the sting, and emotions he felt. The next day he would try to make it better. For now, he would try to sleep.

(Next Morning Reader/ My POV)
"There, done." I tied off the bandage on my ankle. Everyone as quiet today, I heard almost nothing in the halls. People must be doing their jobs.
I assumed Diva was sleeping in way more. I was tired, but could not sleep more. Even though I had plenty of sleep. It was one of those days. I left my room, to see if there was anything I could eat in the kitchen.
I was currently passing by a hall where Kaiba himself stood with his arms crossed. He noticed me though. He said nothing though as he looked up at me, he only nodded his head. I returned the same greeting. He looked tired too.
( Atem's POV)
"It's time. Thank You, Mahad."
"Of course my Pharaoh. I recommend giving this to her as well. In case the first plan does not work." Mahad handed Atem a golden cuff. "I have infused my magic and other things into this cuff. Once she nears that area it could be just what we need for our plan to work."
"Hm, alright, and I shall give this piece to her of my puzzle."
"Very good." Replied Mahad. "I do have one request Mahad. During the time travel. If you can somehow control the area they enter in. Can you see if you can have it near Yugi's home?"
"You are worried....I understand though."
"Well.., I just don't want harm done to her and Diva when they first step back there. No thugs, no danger. I hope."
Mahad kneeled down before Atem, with all his respect. "I shall do my utmost.., I am so happy to finish this request for you my King."
Atem couldn't help but almost tear up, at this. His plans were coming together. "Alright, I shall prepare."
