(Happy New year everyone, and Happy Holidays!)

I stood a couple of inches from the pharaoh now, I felt intimidated a bit. He was a king after all. He sat there all graceful and beautiful.

"What's the matter?" He spoke from his throne, seeing I was too scared to approach him. "Come...sit with me." He slides over a bit on his large throne. There was just enough space for me to sit next to him. Then he let out one of those soft smiles. Or was this a trick to get me to come closer? so he could scold me.

'Hmmm...fine..' I sat down at joined him on his throne. "You are my Queen now." He whispered to me

*Cough!*

I nearly choked on his words. A light chuckle came from his lips. "Be calm..., rest. It's clear you were dying to leave that room. I do not blame you. However, I still have work."

I sat there when men and women came to visit Atem at his throne. Not just to pay him respect but also for some business offers. He was speaking ancient Egyptian mostly so I didn't understand their conversation. Every so often he would turn his head to check on me, just to make sure I was still among the living. He remembered from past times that I didn't exactly enjoy this kind of attention. It was better though, people didn't seem as upset, I wasn't sure if he told them something about me.

As time passed I didn't realize that I was leaning heavily against, the pharaoh's shoulder now. Partially falling asleep. I thought I was finally tired of all this. My wounds still haven't bothered me, but that was mostly because Kisara's spell hasn't worn off yet.

Atem sent his last visiter away, he could feel the weight of my body for a little while now. "Ah...____?" He called my name softly like way back when he called himself Yami, when he was sharing Yugi's body. He was using that tone, the less formal voice.

"Hmm...y-yes...?" I mumbled with my eyes only cracking open a bit. "We are done here." He said softly. The royal court left, giving us space. I still did not budge. "I see..." I replied in a mouse tone.

'...I guess I can...just carry her back...? healing room or..mine though....'

He was glad to see how I was feeling better, even though it seem very odd considering how I was injured along with Kaiba. He was surely going to ask about this later. Not looking like I cared. Atem gently picked me up like a sleeping child being carried by her father. With my head resting on his shoulder, so keep the pressure off my back. A smile crept up onto his lips, seeing me snooze along with my head resting there next to his.

The scent of lotus flowers wafted into my nose making me mumble. "... lotus...flowers.....smells nice." Atem only lightly laughed to himself, knowing why lotus was something my nose picked up. He had a bath earlier and rinsed his locks with lotus-scented water. He was glad that it was to my liking, even though I had no idea it was his hair.

He carried me to his room with the utmost respect. Thinking maybe a change in rooms will help.

(Later That Day)

Mahad was carrying a tray to ____'s healer room. When he entered the room he almost passed out from stress. He was normally so calm and unaffected by things. However, when he was the missing figure of the women. Horrible images played in his head.

"W-What !? She isn't here." Gasped the powerful magician. 'Where could had possibly gone?'

As much as he did not want to worry the King, he thought it was for the best to go tell him.

He set the stay down in the room with a loud sigh.

( Atem's Room)

He had already set his friend down to rest. He stayed just in case if she needed anything at all. He was free of his duties for today. That's when a knock on the door caught his attention. It was a more serious knock too. Atem flinched thinking the loud banging would wake up his best friend.

Very slowly he shuffled to the door.

He poked his spiky-haired- head out. Only to meet his royal magician and advisor's face.

"Mahad..?" He breathed, but by the look on the magician's face, he looked really concerned.

"My Pharaoh, I went to the tent to ____. However, she was not there. I am extremely worried she was taken or worse."

Atem let out a small cough, clearing his throat. "It's alright Mahad...I.. managed to find her...earlier today. Wondering around." The Pharaoh held a hand out pointing into the room. Showing Mahad that she was currently resting.

This did not completely calm Mahad down. He was glad she was safe. "WHY is she out of her room in the first place?"

"That I do not exactly know. She claimed to be feeling better, she seemed to be wandering around the palace a lot recently."

"Is her condition?! how is that possible." Atem hung his head a but, unsure sure himself. He was going to ask once she awoke.

"I...may be able to answer that." A weak horas voice spoke. "Seto?" Atem greeted him.

"Oh great, you too??" Mahad looked at Seto, not impressed that he too wasn't in the healing room resting. He was still fairly pale, from being ill. Seto placed a hand on the wall, leaning slightly to the side.

"Very well, tell us what do you know?"
