"As you all know by now, when your opponent attacks from a blind spot or unseen area the most important reaction is for you to recover quickly. This causes them to lose the advantage of surprise. Today you will work in pairs in your assigned area. One of you will be the Hero out on a usual patrol. The other will be the Villain. The Villain will hide and attack the Hero from an unknown location. If the Hero is subdued then the Villain wins the encounter and the Hero will be taking an extra lesson with Eraser on your off day Saturday. If the Villain is subdued then they will have the lesson, and if no one is subdued then both will have won and neither will take the added lesson. Partners have already been assigned based on your last quirk test. Areas have been marked with numbers so be sure you both stay within your designated sections. Do not leave your zones to avoid interfering with your classmates' training." All Might spoke enthusiastically as ever while addressing the students of class 1A.

Five months into their first year at UA, Mr. Aizawa's homeroom class was now entering their second term of training for their professional Hero careers. Their first term in the prestigious high school set them apart from any other class, in any other Hero school. Including those more senior to themselves. It was almost as if the universe felt this specific group of students needed an introduction to the real world at the tender age of fifteen. It was hard to believe it was only September and they had already been attacked by the League of Villains not once but twice.

So much happened over summer break just a few weeks ago with Bakugo's kidnapping, not to mention the now infamous Sports Festival, that they became well known not only throughout Japan but most of the world as well. Kids and hero fans everywhere knew each member of UA's 'Star Class' by name and face. Yes, even Mineta.

Shocking, right?

You could even find merchandise for most of them in Hero stores. Some members of class 1B as well though not all of them. After much debate and a unanimous class vote, the money raised from the sales were sent to a fund set up by Principle Nezu for lesser known Heros and those who had been forced to retire due to injury. Top Heros made more than enough money to care for their families, but those who were underground or retired rarely made enough to care for themselves and had to take donations or work undercover in non-hero positions. It was a problem that was largely ignored by the government so the "Hero Forever Fund" was something everyone at UA was proud to help build.

"Ojiro you are with Shoji in section 1. Asui and Mineta will be in section 2 inside the building while Yaoyorozu and Ashido will also be in section 2 but you two will be outside. In section 3 we will have Hagakure and Uraraka. Aoyama and Ida you are in section 4. Todoroki and Kaminari will be inside the building in section 5. Tokoyami and Sero will also be in section 5, but you will be outside. Kirishima and Sato are in section 6. Jiro and Koda, you will be in section 7 leaving sections 8-10 for Midoriya and Bakugo." Eighteen second year Hero course students nodded to acknowledge their assignments as they listened.

Well, fifteen of the eager youths nodded. Three lower ranking members of one unofficial Baku-squad opted instead to salute as if they were soldiers receiving orders from their General. Guess which ones.

Almost everyone headed to their designated locations leaving the two classmates behind that had not yet acknowledged their instructions. One stood with arms crossed wearing his usual look of irritation and rage. The other was totally oblivious to all around him as he concentrated on the ground in front of his feet as if he was waiting for it to impart some unknown wisdom.

The freckled greenette of the class was, as usual, taking a moment to process the information he was presented with before acting. Why do Kacchan and I have 3 sections when everyone else only has one section or even half a section to train in? There's nothing special or different about any part of these training grounds, is there? I wonder why we have so much room when everyone else is confined to closer combat areas. Could it be because I still can't fully control One For All 100% of the time? Is All Might worried I will lose contr-

"Yeah Nerd. That's exactly why." Bakugo grabbed the slightly smaller male's hand and began to forcefully drag him towards the other side of the training grounds while their mentor smiled fondly at the departing pair before heading to the observation room. "Quit your damn mumbling with shit you shouldn't be talking about out in the open!" The noticeably harsh whisper held no malice, only concern and irritation. "Dumbass."

"OH! Sorry Kacchan!"

The former childhood friends had reconciled and formed an understanding of sorts through all the trials of their first year at UA so far. After much discussion and a little arguing the two were now preparing to be, with All Might's encouragement and training, not only Pro-Heros but professional partners as well. The now retired former number one was right when he told them they make each other stronger. Stronger being the operative term. Hence the increased practice area.

To outsiders not familiar with the pair they seemed a mismatch at best. One was a fiery short tempered and antisocial blonde. The other, an emerald-eyed gentle and almost overly caring youth. One held what was likely the world's greatest power in his scarred hands. The other, literal explosions. Both were often found engaged in screaming matches, usually one sided ones, with the taller venting frustrations of some description towards the smaller youth. Occasionally though, the more timid teen would show that he could dish it out just as well as he could take it.

No one would suspect them of being partners, let alone close friends. Especially not after hearing a quite normal conversation between the two while training. Well. Normal for them at least.

"Shitty Nerd, we have a bigger area because last week you destroyed half the building when we were sparing! You would think you'd have better control of your damn quirk with all this extra time the last few months with All Might. Wasting my fucking time. If you're not going to concentrate then find someone else to beat your ass." The aggression in those words would have startled or even frightened those unfamiliar with the speaker. After all, the Hero in training aptly named Dynamight had a rather... passionate... personality. He was unofficially known as class 1A's resident attack dog. Well, Angry Pomeranian as he was secretly referred to. Because no way would anyone tell him that to his face!

Yet, the boy tripping along behind said dog as he was dragged towards a few toppled trees and the remains of a factory held no such feelings. To Midoriya the feisty youth was one of the kindest people he knew. Ok, so he could admit that Katsuki didn't express that side of himself well. And the ruby-eyed teen did sometimes revert to a limited vocabulary consisting of mostly curse words. Nobody's perfect. Right?

Right.

"I already apologized for that Kacchan. I didn't notice the main pilon was already compromised. I would have drawn you farther out before I sent that kick if I did. Besides, I thought you liked how strong that attack was!" The freckled male pouted with his small lip poking out in protest. He was still unable to pull his hand away from the teen moving him along unless he used his quirk. AND he was being blamed for a good hit?!

"Yeah, it was strong Deku. But did you think what would have happened to All Might if you had landed that attack? He would have been in deep shit for letting us go all out at each other like that!" And I would still be coughing up part of my damn spleen in Recovery Girls' office, but you don't need to fucking know that Shit Nerd.

"Oh! I didn't think of that. I was just worried that I might have hurt YOU Kacchan. I'll have to be sure to apologize to All Might tonight!" The blush that spread across the boys freckled face at the realization was almost unnoticeable.

"Tch. Well as payback for that fuck up YOU get to be the Villain. That way I can kick your weak ass. You got 2 minutes." Bakugo released, or more like flung away, Deku's hand as he spoke. A less than pleasant grin stretched across his handsome face as he sat on the ground to wait until it was time to hunt his prey.
