"I'll do it!" Almost jumping up from his seat, Midoriya looked down to his still seated companion with a huge smile. "You re-heated the food and stopped me from blowing us up, not that it would affect YOU much, but still. So I should do the dishes." Without waiting for a reply, Izuku took the empty bowl from his friend's hands. Beaming another blinding smile down at his partner, the smaller boy continued, "You can head up to bed if you like Kacchan. I don't mind. Considering how late it is, I know you must be eager to go to sleep. I'll see you tomorrow!"
Turning, the inheritor of AFO made his way to the sink to begin his self-appointed task. He was so focused on what he was doing that he completely failed to notice the other youth's presence in the otherwise vacant room never actually left. Once the task of purging the dishes of the well reconstituted dinner was completed, the pleased teen turned to leave only to be slightly startled when he saw his future Pro partner leaning against the door frame. "Kacchan! I thought you were going up to bed?"
"It's called digestion Deku. You don't go straight to sleep after eating, Idiot. Or did you WANT me to get sick? Think you can take me easy when we spar tomorrow if I'm not 100%?" Scoffing at the freckled males fervent head shaking and arm waving in his own defense the looming teen uncrossed his arms. The blonde made his way to the sink where the other stood now frozen, splayed hands still extended in front of him, in unsure shock. As the spiky haired male came closer, emerald colored eyes locked onto ruby until the pair were a mere few centimeters apart. Without warning he abruptly grabbed a kitchen cloth from the side of the sink causing the shorter male to jump slightly resulting in an amused huff. "How the hell did you manage to get bubbles on your eyebrows, shitty Nerd?"
Holding a slightly rounded chin tilted up in one hand, Katsuki used his other hand to wipe the greenett's face with the clean cloth. The taller of the two smirked as an unheeded memory flashed through his mind. Just like when we were fuckin' brats. How the hell can one person be so damn messy when CLEANING something? Only this dumbass.
"It's not that funny Kacchan." Noticing the amusement on his companion's face, Izuku grew annoyed. The pout making its way to the emerald-eyed teen's face as he swatted the other's hand away was (precious) sickening.
"Yeah Nerd, it is. Remember that time when we were 3 and Auntie Inko let us help do the dishes? We put a whole bottle of detergent in the sink." Katsuki's chuckle was low and gruff but sincere and a most welcome sound to Izuku's ears. Any form of laughter from the often irritated boy was like finding a unicorn or a leprechaun. A thing of legend.
After a moment of reflecting, finger on his chin and concentrating on a spot on the floor, class 1A's Broccoli Lord's eyes widened in recognition. Looking up excitedly he smiled brightly. "Yeah! Mom was so mad but she kept laughing at all the bubbles. Then we played with them while we 'helped clean the floor' and she ended up giving us cookies!"
Two sets of light chuckles slowly turned to snickering which in turn gradually became full on laughter. Soon both boys were holding their sides as the pair stood face to face by the kitchen sink laughing at their shared childhood memory.
All good things must come to an end as they say, so after a few minutes their mirth began to naturally fade. In the seemingly somehow shrunken dorm kitchen each youth quietly looked at the other without moving away in a gradually building but not at all awkward silence. That is, until one Angry Pomeranian took conscious note of the proximity he had to his once and technically still rival. "I'm going up to my room. Don't be late tomorrow Deku." After an affirmative nod from the other, Bakugo made his way to the stairs. His room was on the level just above the common room so he never felt the use of the elevator was worth it. Only soft fuckers like the Glitter Troll and Cinderella with his damn animals need that shit.
