The better part of a month passed by since the nature of self named 'Wonder Duo's partnership took on a decidedly more private tone behind closed doors. Literally. The pair took most any opportunity possible to be secluded and alone these days. Whenever they could they would find ways to be together away from prying eyes and ears. When they managed to, there was no question as to the deeper connection they had to one another compared to just one term ago.

Over the last three weeks the change remained undetected by the classmates, friends, and teachers of said couple. Noone around the two seemed to have taken note of how much closer the two boys had grown recently, not even their ever observant and intimIdating homeroom teacher.

So what if Bakugo seemed borderline obsessed with making his smaller counterpart eat some form of breakfast along with a balanced nutritional dinner every day, sometimes even preparing said meals himself? That wasn't new. The blonde had nagged the greenette about his eating habits ever since they decided to pair up after All Might's retirement. Who wants their partner to be weak from hunger and unable to train or perform to their utmost ability?

Nobody.

So what if the two teens seemed to always be positioned next to one another in just about every class or training activity? Whether seated in class or lunch or even standing around in the training grounds or changing in the locker rooms, the two were practically glued at the hip these days. They had been mending their friendship for months now in hopes of one day becoming one of the most powerful and high ranking professional Hero pairs in all of Japan. The ability to maintain a close relationship with good communication in a variety of situations and settings would be paramount to their future. Who wants to work with somebody they weren't completely compatible with when they could possibly face life or death peril on any given day? Would you entrust your survival to somebody you couldn't fully trust in non-optimal conditions?

Of course not.

So what if the two unofficial class squads had begun sitting together at lunch these days? There's nothing unusual about classmates growing closer as the school year progresses. Especially when said classmates have been through literal life and death struggles with you. It's natural to form closer bonds to people you experience shared struggles with. Who wouldn't want to have comrades they can joke with easily and feel totally comfortable around?

Nothing suspicious to see here. Move along.

Today was Tuesday and the class was settling into their seats for the morning with some good natured ribbing at the expense of a certain tailed martial arts user. Before leaving the dorms, Ojiro had mistaken some cookies made by Bakugo last night for those Sato had baked yesterday afternoon. In his defense, they did look similar.

The shaker of cayenne pepper next to them should have been a hint.

The feisty blonde DID warn everyone they were intended for himself, though anyone could have one if they were brave enough. The thoroughly embarrassed and somewhat still suffering Mashirao should have checked before quickly eating not one, but two on his way out the door less than half an hour ago. Alas, he did not and now he was paying for it. The tall Sugar Rush quirk holder had disappeared to find milk once he learned what happened but most of the other members of class were preoccupied with who could make the most clever 'spicy meatball' reference.

Denki was in the lead.

That was, until Mr. Aizawa entered the room followed by a concerned Sato holding a cold thermos. A few sips and the fire in Tailman's mouth was finally dispelled leaving him flushed but grateful. Definitely not just milk, but at that moment he couldn't begin to care. He was too happy his mouth wasn't going to melt off.
